Chapter 065: A Send-Off

All day, Lina Riley found herself distracted. She remembered clearly that after The Princess Royal had drifted off last night, she herself had gone to sleep in a side chamber—yet by morning's light, she woke up in The Princess Royal's bed. More disconcerting still, The Princess Royal had awakened before her and was watching her with a faintly amused expression.

Mortified, Lina worried the princess would think her perverse; fortunately, The Princess Royal didn't mind.

Today, Lina had taken a leave of absence to see someone off. She stood by the city gate for a long while, waiting until she heard Willa Langley's boisterous call. Willa was about to head north.

"Lina!"

At the sound of her name, Lina turned. Willa, astride a fine horse, halted at her side, a dark purple satchel strapped behind her. She wore a lake-blue traveling outfit with snug cuffs, giving her a dashing look.
