Chapter 076: A Future

No one knew exactly what methods The Princess Royal had used; at any rate, Lina Riley finally got a chance to meet with Willa Langley.

In this cold, harsh land, both Willa and Winnie Wren looked slightly weather-beaten, whereas Lina, surprisingly, seemed to have been looked after so well that her cheeks were smooth and rosy.

They arranged to meet some distance away from the military camp. Willa was the first to make a move, landing a punch on Lina's shoulder. "Hey, so that's how it is! Not a single letter in reply—you almost gave me a heart attack!"

She actually put some force behind the punch, and Lina stumbled back a couple of steps, though she didn't get angry. She just grinned. "What, you're not happy I came all this way to see you in person?"

Willa was indeed thrilled, but the lack of any earlier word from Lina had kept her anxious for quite a while. Eventually, she received some news—but it came via her mother's letter.
