Chapter 112: Riding Together

Willa and Winnie had received word early and were waiting at the border between the Kingdom of Northwind and The Kingdom of Ravenwell. As soon as Lina stepped out of the carriage, she found herself besieged on both sides—each of them grabbing one of her arms to check if she was missing any limbs. Discovering that Lina actually looked a bit plumper than when she'd set off, Willa was so thrilled she nearly howled in delight. But then she remembered the Princess Royal was present, so she stifled the urge.

Lina, amused by Willa's sudden timidity, clapped her on the shoulder in imitation of Willa's own rough manner. The force made Willa's face contort in pain. She wanted to curse Lina out but didn't dare. After all, Lina was now "the prized consort of a powerful figure," exactly like those tales Willa had read. She could only roll her eyes at Lina instead.
