Adira paused at a clearing, her gaze drifting upward. The sky was painted with soft shades of gold and blue, a stark contrast to the churning void they had faced in the Rift. "It feels wrong," she said, her voice barely audible.
Kael stopped, his hand resting lightly on the hilt of his sword. "What does?"
"That it's over," Adira replied, her jaw tightening. "That we're here, alive, and she's not."
Finn stepped forward, his expression grim. "Rhea made her choice. Doesn't make it easier, but we have to keep moving. There's a world out there counting on us."
Kane snorted, the sound bitter. "The world. Sure. Bet most of them don't even know we exist, let alone what we've done."
Adira turned sharply, her eyes blazing. "That doesn't matter. Rhea didn't sacrifice herself for recognition. She did it because it was right. Because if we didn't stop that Rift, no one else could."
