"...Power is something that each of us naturally thirst for, it is only human to want to be at the apex. Yet this thirst corrupts us, turns us against eachother, allies turn to foes and foes turn to allies. The concept of power is something none of us can truly grasp yet we all have an instinctual need for it." Professor Peters was explaining to the class full of young children.
Arthur was sitting in the back of the class not paying any attention the old man, his mind more focused on what he would be eating for dinner.
As the students around him kept asking the professor meaningless question about power he simply dozed off, not caring at all about power.
Arthur firmly believed that his life was perfectly fine without this so called power the professor was advertising to the children. Power was only needed in times of war, and luckily the world was at peace.
"Arthur I assume that my lecture is boring you?" The professor said with a stern look at Arthur.
"Huh, oh sorry, I just zoned out. I don't really see the need to have power though, it seems like it's just something people get to show off" Arthur retorted while still staring out the window of the classroom.
"So you don't want to be powerful?" The professor asked.
"Not really I just want to live an easy life." Arthur replied.
His peers were snickering quietly no doubt judging the fool trying to argue with the professor.
Arthur paid them no attention as honestly he didn't care for their thoughts or opinions of him.
"I see, well why do...." the professor was cut off by an alarmingly loud crashing sound followed by a slight ringing.
Arthur was so startled he almost jumped out of his seat, he looked around trying to find the source of the incredibly loud noise, but as he looked the ringing only got more pronounced, it grew louder and louder till it began to hurt.
Arthur felt like his ears were about to pop as his vision slowly faded, before his vision went fully blank he saw a strange white black text contrasting with the white of the board at the front of the class.
