Confrontation gone wrong

"Not to push anything" Lucas said, his expression grave. "A girl named Lila approached me this morning. First-year, blonde. She seemed... concerned about your whereabouts last night."

Noah's confusion quickly morphed into something darker. "Lila? What the hell does she have to do with anything?"

"She's not your girlfriend then?" Lucas asked, though he already knew the answer, everyone knew he was with Sophie so it didn't make any difference asking. Although, certain times, people could be with more than one person.

"No," Noah's voice was tight. "She's just... she's in my class. She's been..." He ran a hand through his hair, frustration evident. "I'll handle it."

Lucas nodded slowly. "She knew about the raid, Noah. Knew details she shouldn't have known. And the way she talked about you..." He let the implication hang in the air.
