Actually, Lane Allen was not a Guide, but rather an Esper with a mysterious Plunder ability! It allowed him to possess other people’s bodies, and steal their awakened abilities. Keeping his real body safe, Lane could enjoy life to the fullest, constantly swapping identities, and doing whatever he wanted without ever worrying about the consequences! How great was that?

Damien Lennox grabbed Lane’s arm, and pressed him against the wall, his clear green eyes staring down at Lane intently, as if he could see right through him. “There’s no one else whose guidance feels so harsh and chaotic, yet pleasing at the same time.”
It seems that Damien was somehow able to recognize Lane even after switching identities, and is unwilling to let him go?

The Guide is Actually a Body-Switching Esper [BL]

A new guiding request from Damien had arrived. A bit later than usual - Damien must have been busy, or maybe unsure how to face Lane after what happened between them last time - but it eventually popped up in Lane's schedule again.

He was planning to see the man again soon, of course. But, after his conversation with Anthony in the gym, there was something he wanted to confirm first.

So, he scrolled down, looking at the other requests. There were quite a few open requests from Espers from General Staff, not directed at any specific Guides. After a brief consideration, Lane settled for two B-rankers. This should be enough to excuse a 'C-ranker' such as 'Aidan' from picking up any more requests for the day.

He repeated the same thing the next day, until finally, he managed to catch Team Leader Bella Clark in her office.

"Come in," a sweet, mellow voice answered from the inside as he knocked on the door.
