18 | Your Type

"Huh?" Blue said at a loss for words.

"You said you were looking for an Extremely Dominant Alpha the other day to become a character model for your new book. I didn't get the opportunity to tell you that I am actually an Extremely Dominant Alpha.

"I also wanted to tell you the next time we met, but you were in a hurry and I wasn't able to. So I'm telling you today. As your biggest fan, it'll be my greatest honor to be a character model for your next book." Winter spoke in one breath.

The silence that came after Winter's words lasted for a long time. Winter's personal prediction of Blue's reaction to him being an Extremely Dominant Alpha was not accurate even the slightest bit.

The only emotion that Blue had shown to Winter's words was confusion at first. Then his face became blank. Winter couldn't tell what was going on in Blue's mind.

It couldn't be that Blue didn't believe his identity of being an Extremely Dominant Alpha, right?

To clarify that he wasn't conveniently lying, Winter said, "I'm not coming out as an Extremely Dominant Alpha just because I'm your fan and would like to help you. I truly am an Extremely Dominant Alpha. I differentiated when I was fourteen. If you don't believe me, I can—"

"It's not about me believing if you're an Extremely Dominant Alpha or not." Blue abruptly cut Winter off. "In fact, I do believe that you're an Extremely Dominant Alpha."

Winter's eyes widened in shock, but he composed himself quickly and nodded.

For Blue, though he hadn't been certain, he knew that Winter was neither a Recessive Alpha or an ordinary Alpha. He had thought that Winter was a Dominant Alpha. So finding out he was an Extremely Dominant Alpha didn't come as that much of a shock to him.

"Oh, that's good then. About the character model thing, can I…"

"I don't need you." Blue said with an icy tone.

Winter didn't hide his surprise at Blue's words. "Pardon?"

Blue sneered and said, "Did you think that I would jump up and down in happiness as soon as you told me that you are an Extremely Dominant Alpha?"

Blue didn't wait for Winter to respond and continued speaking. "You must be very silly, Winter Dumont. Do you think I am stupid? I don't need you as my character model. I rather wait years for someone else than settle for you."

Winter's pride was thrown to the ground and stomped on by Blue. Winter didn't even know how to respond to Blue's words.

'What the fuck? Why was he so stubborn? Would it kill him to say yes and let himself get seduced?' Winter thought in his head with contempt for Blue's stubborn nature.

"B-But why? I am an Extremely Dominant Alpha and I am willing to be used. What is wrong with using me?" Winter asked, trying as hard as he could not to sound whiny or entitled.

Blue rolled his eyes and said, "The reason is simple. I don't like your type."

Crack.

That was the sound of Winter's mental fortitude breaking.

His type?! What type was he? What did that mean?! How was his type unlikeable? What was unlikeable about him!? Winter was tall, handsome, smart, rich, funny, athletic, sexy. What could be wrong with his type of person!?!?

"Please… Could you explain what you mean by my type? I don't understand." Winter forced a polite smile on his lips as he spoke.

"That." Blue simply said, pointing at Winter's face. "Who do you think you're fooling with that fake personality? You're just like every other Alpha I can find on the street. The only difference is that you pretend not to be one.

"I don't know what gave you the idea to think that you're special enough to try to wiggle your way into my circle, but let me tell you something. I would rather put up with an Alpha who would say nonsense things to my face than with one that wears a mask 24/7."

Blue said all of this whilst pointing at Winter to make his point clear.

Winter's perfect expression almost broke into a glower after Blue said those words. By his sides, his hands were already squeezed into tight fists as Winter tried his best to restrain himself from exploding with anger on the spot.

"Really?" was all Winter could say. And his tone was not as polite as he intended it to be.

Blue nodded vigorously and said, "Yes. Really. Pretenders, fakers, and liars are the worst kinds of people. If you know what's good for you, you'll never dare to put on a mask around me or I'll unveil it in front of everyone you think cares about you."

Winter's true face surfaced. His eyes darkened and his lips were pressed into a straight line. Even though he was not expelling his pheromones, the air around him shifted and became suffocating.

Blue almost choked on the spot at the sudden switch up, but he tried his best to appear unaffected.

"And who do you think you are to do such a thing?" Winter asked Blue with a deep voice.

Blue said he would unveil Winter's mask to the public. What gave him the guts to think that he had the authority to do such a thing?

"Do you think anyone would care about anything that comes out of your mouth?" Winter asked Blue. Without waiting for him to respond, he said, "Look between us, everyone hangs on my every word. As for you, just your existence alone is enough to rub people off the wrong way.

"I have been nothing less than kind and polite to you from the start but it seems like you don't appreciate such behavior." Winter suddenly closed the distance between himself and Blue.

This was when the difference in height and aura of the two really showed. If Winter wanted, he could swallow Blue up in one go. Blue was so small in comparison to him.

"Let me tell you something you seem not to know, Blue Kent: your self-righteousness won't amount to anything. And the pride you go around shoving into people's faces? It will crumble right before your eyes.

"You say that fakers are the worst kind of people? You… your type of person is the worst. The type that believes the world will fall at their feet just because they fight against it." Winter spoke with a vicious tone. Blue was too suffocated to say anything, so Winter continued speaking.

"Believe me, you'll fight until the end and have nothing to show for it."
