Chapter Five: Worlds Collide

Mia Carson stepped into Ethan Cole's penthouse and felt like she'd entered another universe. The space was everything she expected of a billionaire: sleek black marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows offering a breathtaking view of the city skyline, and an open layout that screamed power and minimalism. Everything had a purpose, and nothing was out of place.

"Welcome to your new home," Ethan said, his voice crisp and businesslike. He

gestured toward the grand living room, where an enormous chandelier sparkled

overhead. "The guest room is down the hall to the right. For appearances, we'll share the master suite, but you can use the smaller bedroom as your private space."

Mia's brow furrowed. "You didn't mention I'd have to move in."

"It's non-negotiable," Ethan replied, crossing his arms. "If this is going to work, we need to make it believable. That means living together."

Mia's gaze flicked around the room. She was no stranger to extravagance—she'd seen it

often enough at Eclipse—but this was different. Living under the same roof as

Ethan meant risking exposure, and that terrified her.

"Fine," she said finally, her voice tight. "But I have rules."

Ethan raised an eyebrow, amused. "Go on."

"No snooping. No questions about my past. And absolutely no stepping into my personal space unless I allow it."

"Fair enough," Ethan said, his lips twitching in what might have been a smirk.

Mia held his gaze, determined not to let him intimidate her. She couldn't afford to.
