In the grand expanse of the Reinhardt estate, two minds worked in perfect sync, their hands moving across keyboards, controllers, and circuit boards with the kind of expertise that could make seasoned engineers jealous.
Liam and Louis sat at their shared workstation—a sprawling desk cluttered with wires, screens, and half-built gadgets. Three monitors cast a glow over their determined faces, one displaying a live feed of their latest game, another showcasing lines of code, and the third tracking an experiment they had set up in the corner of the room.
"This is it," Liam announced, stretching his fingers. "The final boss."
Louis cracked his neck. "We've spent weeks preparing for this moment."
"Victory or rage quit?"
"Victory."
The two grinned at each other and dived in, their fingers a blur over the controllers.
The room was filled with clicking buttons and intense music as they maneuvered through the battle. Their characters dodged, countered, and launched precise attacks. Yet, despite their skill, the boss monster—a massive, armored beast with glowing red eyes—wiped them out in seconds.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" Louis yelled, tossing his controller onto the desk.
Liam groaned. "This thing is actually impossible."
"No. We're missing something." Liam leaned closer to the screen, eyes narrowed. "There's a pattern. We just need better timing."
Louis sat up, rubbing his chin. "Or—hear me out—we call in a strategist."
Liam raised an eyebrow. "You mean…?"
Louis smirked. "She's in the library."
A knowing look passed between them. They had spent years trying to get Leina into gaming. She always refused. But if she wouldn't play, maybe she'd at least help them beat the unbeatable.
"Alright," Liam said, pushing back from his chair. "Let's do this."
The operation was set.
Meanwhile, in the family library, Leina sat curled up in an oversized armchair, a thick novel resting in her lap. Diane, her fluffy Samoyed, lay sprawled beside her, content and unbothered by the world.
For Leina, the library was a sanctuary, a place where she could retreat into fictional worlds without interruption. Or at least, that was the idea.
She felt their presence before she saw them.
"I'm busy," she said without looking up.
"Are you?" Louis asked innocently.
"Extremely."
"Even if there's an unsolvable challenge that only you can crack?" Liam added.
Silence. Then, she sighed. "What is it?"
Liam slid into the chair across from her. "We need a strategist. A sharp mind. A tactical genius."
Leina slowly turned a page. "And you thought of me?"
"You're the only one who memorizes entire historical war strategies for fun."
Leina finally looked up, unimpressed. "It's called knowledge."
Louis grinned. "Exactly! We need your knowledge."
She stared at them, skeptical. "You want me to help you… in a video game?"
"A challenge," Liam corrected. "A puzzle of wits. A battle of intellect."
Leina raised an eyebrow. "A boss fight?"
"A strategic war," Louis said dramatically.
She watched them for a moment. It was ridiculous. They were ridiculous. And yet… a small part of her was intrigued.
Diane yawned beside her, completely uninterested in their antics.
Leina sighed, closing her book. "Five minutes."
The twins cheered, grabbing her by the arms before she could change her mind.
Back in their tech-infested room, Liam and Louis quickly set up their gaming station for their new "tactician." Leina sat in the middle, arms crossed, looking at the screen with mild interest.
"So, what's the problem?" she asked.
Liam pointed at the screen. "This boss. It's a multi-phase fight, and no matter what we do, we can't land a final hit before it regenerates."
Leina studied the enemy, its movements, and the battlefield layout.
"You're approaching this the wrong way," she said finally.
Louis blinked. "What do you mean?"
Leina pointed at a part of the screen. "That pillar on the left. It shifts slightly every few seconds, meaning it's not just background design—it's a mechanic."
Liam's eyes widened. "Wait, are you saying—"
"It's meant to be used."
Louis gawked. "We've played this fight over fifty times and never noticed."
Leina smirked. "That's because you're looking for brute force solutions. But this is a strategy game disguised as an action game."
The twins exchanged a look. Then, without hesitation, they restarted the fight.
This time, they followed Leina's directions, using the shifting pillar as cover and baiting the boss into attacking it. Within minutes, the monster stumbled, exposing its weak point.
"NOW!" Leina ordered.
Liam and Louis launched their strongest attacks. The boss let out a final roar before collapsing.
A moment of silence filled the room. Then, the words "VICTORY ACHIEVED" flashed across the screen.
The twins erupted into cheers.
"You are a genius!" Liam said, grabbing Leina's shoulders and shaking her.
Louis fell onto the floor dramatically. "I have ascended."
Leina simply leaned back, satisfied.
"I can't believe we didn't see that before," Liam muttered.
Leina smirked. "Observation is key."
"You should totally game with us," Louis said.
Leina stood up. "No thanks."
The twins groaned.
"Come on, just one game," Liam pleaded.
Leina picked up her book, already making her way toward the door. "You got your five minutes. I'm going back to my world."
Louis pouted. "You'll come around one day."
Leina paused, glancing at Diane, who was sniffing one of their controllers.
"We'll see," she said before leaving.
The twins grinned at each other.
Step one: Get Leina interested.
Step two: Convert her into a gamer.
Their mission was far from over.
