CHAPTER 31: FIGHTS AND EVOLUTION

In an abandoned factory on the outskirts of the city, a black van arrived, and some men in black suits dragged a woman who was blindfolded out of the car into the factory. The blindfolded woman was Emilia.

A hundred meters from the car was a jeep parked at the side of the road. Wallace watched with his clairvoyant ability as Emilia was being dragged into the factory. He looked on coldly as he opened the drawer in his car.

Emilia, whose vision was dark, soon saw light as her blindfold was removed. She looked around and saw that she was in a factory with large open windows, and men in suits were arranged in different places in the factory.

"Go outside to wait for his return," a man sitting on a chair commanded, and the men that escorted Emilia returned outside.

"Girl, sit," he told Emilia, as he pointed to the chair opposite him. Emilia sat on the chair.

"We don't have any issues with you, but there is a person you've been mingling with here that we have a problem with. If he can do what we want, we'll release you, but if he can't do it, we have to use you to teach him a lesson," he said.

Suddenly, circular projectiles flew into the factory from the window, and before they could even land, smoke diffused out of them, covering the whole space with thick white smoke that did not even allow anyone to see what was happening.

The man, sensing what happened, wanted to lunge towards Emilia, but

"Bang, Bang, Bang" - three shots were heard. Two bullets plunged into both of his legs, while a bullet plunged into his arm.

"Arrgh," he screamed in agony.

"Bang" - it felt as if a grim reaper had entered the factory, as Wallace reaped life one after the other. Within just two minutes, everyone, both inside and outside the factory, had been taken down, except Emilia and the boss.

Wallace walked towards Emilia and carried her. "Don't worry," he said to appease her, and all her worries allayed when she heard that.

He carried her outside, where he met Antonio. "Bring him there," he commanded the latter, as he carried Emilia into her car.

"Where is your hotel?" he asked.

"Take me to the restaurant; I have to take my car with me," she said.

"No problem, but can you drive?" he asked.

"No problem; this is not the first time I will be experiencing it," she said, as she smiled at him.

"Hmm," he nodded, as he drove her back to where her car was.

"Don't worry about me; they can't come after me anymore," she smiled.

"Okay," Wallace soon drove.

She returned to her car, and her demeanor changed, as she smiled strangely.

Wallace himself drove through the town towards the outskirts of the town. He drove for close to thirty minutes and got to an intersection.

"Hmm," he felt danger, as he looked forward, and suddenly, his clairvoyant ability saw people waiting at the other end of the road for him.

He reversed the car, but in an instant, they broke the sound barrier, as they arrived at some distance from him, surrounding his car. He counted, and they were close to a hundred, but they already surrounded his car from a far distance, enclosing him in a circle.

Wallace got down from the car. "Who are you?" he asked.

"Impetuous one, you've challenged the authority of hell, and so you must see the wrath of Lucifer," their voices echoed all at once.

"Well, you are from hell, then," he answered.

Dark energies coagulated into their hands, as they formed long blades, as they walked towards Wallace slowly.

"Looks like I have no choice but to fight, then," he thought, as ink-like dark energy that absorbed all light around him wriggled around his body, forming an ink-like armor, and a long sword in his hand.

His eyes turned pitch black, as he felt empowered. The armor around him devoured every particle that came close, including even the air, using it to empower him.

"Hmm, let's test my strength, then," he said, and smirked.

"Boom" - different sounds breaking the sound barrier were heard, as those people rushed towards Wallace.

"Boom" - Wallace turned into an afterimage, and "Puchi" - his sword pierced into one body. Tentacles made their way out of his body towards that body, plunging into it, as he absorbed the soul essence.

He turned around. "Clang, Clang, Clang" - his hands moved at a speed that's twice that of his body, as he parried the blade piercing towards him from all sides.

He felt more powerful with each of the blade he parried. His armor was absorbing every form of energy from the blade, empowering his physical strength, making it so that he couldn't feel tired.

"Boom" - He arrived in front of another one, and

"Puchi" - His sword pierced into his body. He clenched his left fist, leaving his first and second finger forming the shape of a gun.

"Pu" - Dark ink-like energy shot out of his finger, colliding with those rushing towards him. The projectile collided with their body, throwing them back, while corroding their body at a visible rate. They soon turned into a puddle of blood.

Ten were taken down just like that, and tentacles extended into their body. He felt weaker with each of the energy he shot out, so he had to stop. Anyway, his physical strength was enough to deal with them.

Afterimages formed as he passed through his opponents, but not without slitting their throat, while tentacles plunged into their back. After a minute, he had already taken down a sizable amount of them. The energy that's coagulated in his abdomen burst, as it went to every inch of his body, including his cells.

Another round of evolution started, but he ignored the pain, as he continued. He finished the last one the moment his evolution started, and there were still fifteen struggling with his tentacles, absorbing their soul essence.

They looked at Wallace with terrified gazes.

"Where are you from on this planet?" he asked, but no one answered, and he soon finished absorbing their soul essence.

He frowned, as he stood in the middle of the ruined road. The roads had at least lost a layer, just leaving soil in its wake, while the damage to some places was so deep that water was coming out of them.

The energy he could control was too overbearing; a little bit of it was enough to drill into the road and continue digging deep into the road, while getting stronger, unless it had finished exhausting its source before it scattered.

Wallace felt he himself had gotten visibly stronger, as he clenched his fist. Seeing that he couldn't get information from dead bodies, he entered his car and drove off.

Meanwhile, in hell, the five princes of hell appeared in Lucifer's chamber.

"Sorry for the intrusion," Satan bowed, as he said.

"I felt it; we have lost a lot of Venato within a short time," Lucifer said, as she frowned.

"Looks like the anomaly is getting stronger at a fast rate," she said.

"Can you see where it happened?" she asked.

"It was in Italy; the three Manato there commanded all the Venato to go and capture the anomaly, but they all died strangely. Should we get the Manato to go?" he asked.

"Is Arishem not making a move yet?" she asked.

"I don't know his plans, but apart from that time in America, he did not make any move again," Satan answered.

"Looks like he either wants to gauge the strength of the anomaly or he wants to use us and make us lose most of our forces, or he is building up forces, so that he will succeed in one try," Lucifer analyzed.

"What should we do, then?" Satan asked.

"Tell the Manato to wait; it looks like he's gotten very strong. Let them continue with their work there as usual. Let the Dukes deal with everything, then," she said.

"Hmm," Satan bowed.

"Yama should look for ways to quickly bring in more Venato, so that the structure of hell can return to its normal state," Lucifer commanded.

Wallace's car stopped at the uncompleted building he used beside the Abruzzo Park at that time. He walked into the building, where he saw a pale-faced Antonio.

"Sorry I've caused you trouble," he said.

"No problem, sir; I feel stronger than before," he answered.

"Where's the guy?" he asked.

"He's in the car," the latter answered.

"Take my jeep and leave the remaining to me," he said.

"Thanks, boss," Antonio soon retreated out of the building.

Wallace closed his eyes, as he felt the strength coursing through his body. Every evolution brought him farther from the human tree. Even till now, the reason, the source of the power, and what he had turned into, he didn't know. His enemies knew more about him than he did.
