Evolution

Dante hurriedly supported Kachina to prevent her face from crashing head-on to the floor.

Looking at her face, he noticed her lip is a bit pale and her forehead full of sweat.

Dante hurriedly called for the emergency medical staff stationed near the arena who were already packing the equipment. 

"Oh my! It looks like Trainer Kachina has lost consciousness after the battle! Emergency team, please take a look at her condition."

The crowd began to murmur after seeing this scene. 

In the competition, two medical teams were arranged. The first was the Medical center, which is where Trainers can get their Pokemon treated after the battle. The second is the Emergency team, stationed in the field to respond to sudden accidents that can happen during each battle.

The emergency team quickly arrived next to Dante and Kachina.

At the forefront of the team, there was a woman with short, burgundy hair, tied together by some ceremonial feather. She had a slim body with a height reaching Dante's nose. She was wearing a doctor's coat over her body, but it couldn't hide her mountainous peaks.

"It's alright, we'll take it from here. Thank you for supporting her body and preventing further harm."

Dante nodded at her as the team proceeded to put Kachina on a stretcher. Meanwhile, the doctor, who was called Chuychu by the other medical staff, took out a Pokeball and released a Blissey.

"Blissey, can you see what's wrong with her?"

"Bliss!" (Leave it to me!)

Blissey touched Kachina's palm and then shook her head as a signal to Chuychu. Seeing this, Doctor Chuychu heaved a sigh of relief.

"Can you tell me what's wrong with her?"

A voice from behind made Chuychu a little startled. Seeing that it was Dante, she thought for a while before replying.

"You don't have to worry about her, she just fainted from exhaustion. She was probably very tired before this, and the sudden relaxation after the battle caused all the fatigue to catch up to her."

Dante narrowed his eyes after hearing her answer. He could feel that she was definitely hiding something from him. But from her expression just now, Kachina shouldn't be in any dangerous situation.

From the brief conversation he had with Kachina, Dante already developed a good impression of her. He didn't want something bad to happen to such an innocent girl.

"By the way, do you want to come with us? Pikachu should have taken quite a hit from your last battle."

Chuychu sudden offer caught Dante a bit off guard. he thought for a moment about it before refusing. While he wanted to check Kachina's condition, he already saw Shinobu waiting for him in the waiting area.

Looking at the receding back of the medical team, Dante turned around and made his way to Shinobu. 

"What just happened? Was she injured from the battle?"

"According to the doctor, it was just fatigue, nothing to worry about."

Shinobu breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this. And then, as if she thought of something, she suddenly gave Dante a teasing smile.

"Congrats for the win by the way. That battle was very close~"

"Nahhh, Pikachu and I had it all under control."

"Pika!" (It'd take more than that to take me down!)

"Pfft! I hope the both of you can keep up that confidence until tomorrow. Me and Shelly prepared a great surprise for you."

Seeing her confident smile, Dante felt something was wrong. After thinking for a while, his eyes widened.

"No way! Did you find someone with a Karrablast?"

"Hihihi, yeah! I was lucky. Someone saw Shelly on TV and decided to contact me through the organizers."

"Wow! Congrats! With how rare Karrablast is in the Philippines, it's practically a miracle to find someone with that Pokemon after just a day of exposure."

"Yeah. They were also able to contact the organizers so quickly, so I think they have a connection in the Alliance." 

The reason why both of them were so surprised is because Karrablast and Shelmet are usually located in the American continent. Shinobu already got lucky enough to get a Shelmet while she was in Japan, she didn't expect to meet its pair here in the Philippines so quickly.

Shelmet and Karrablast are Pokemon that require each other in order to evolve. 

When both Pokemon are present, under electrical stimulation, Shelmet will be able to take off its shell and quickly adapt to gain greater speed, while Karrablast will gain said shell and have an increase in his defenses.

"By the way, where is Shelly?"

"She's currently resting inside the Pokeball. She's still tired from the earlier battle, and I want her to rest as much as possible to regain energy for tomorrow's evolution."

"That's nice. Do you want me to accompany you during the meet-up?"

"Thanks! It would be reassuring to have a friend while meeting with them. It would be early morning though."

"That's fine by me, just message me where to meet up later. I'm gonna go to the Center first."

"Alright, I'll wait for you outside."

Dante smiled as he watched Shinobu walk away. The Med center only allows the Trainer of the Pokemon being treated to enter inside. This is to prevent others from blocking the way of the nurses and doctors.

The door to the Medical Center was located next to the waiting area. Dante only had to walk through a short hallway before reaching the healing station.

Just like the Pokemon Center, the Med Center also has a treatment machine. Luckily, the treatment is free for all the participants of the competition. 

Pikachu reluctantly got back into the Pokeball before Dante handed it over to the nurse. Looking around, he wasn't able to see Kachina or any of the medical team that carried her here.

"Excuse me, do you know what happened to the Trainer who was brought here unconscious?"

"Do you mean your opponent, Mr. Dante? She has already regained consciousness and is resting inside that room. You may visit her if you want, but do know that her parents are inside."

The nurse smiled while pointing to one of the rooms. From her words, she probably watched Dante's battle against Kachina.

Dante thought for a while before deciding against visiting. 

While he was curious about what happened at the end of the battle, it can wait. Besides, with her parents inside, it would be awkward being stared at while they talk, especially since he was the one who defeated her.

Dante released Pikachu from the Pokeball after the treatment and then thanked the nurse. As he was walking on the hallway heading outside, he encountered an old man walking in the opposite direction. 

Their gazes met and Dante gave a nod before walking past him.

'Hmm, his Pikachu looks like a normal Pikachu. It really must be a wrong estimation on my part regarding Drilbur.'

The old man thought so as he stood and knocked in front of Kachina's room.
