"Die!"
The next moment, Uchiha Hikari pounced at Kaito like a crazed cat, wrapping her limbs around him. Her hands reached for his throat, and her mouth aimed to bite his nose.
Her attack was wild and chaotic, leaving Kaito both amused and exasperated. With a swift move, he grabbed her and pried her off his body, tossing her aside effortlessly.
Hikari collapsed onto the floor, momentarily drained of energy. She glared at Kaito with defiant, hate-filled eyes, as though she wanted to devour him.
Her behavior gave Kaito a headache. He turned to his mother. "Mom, I can't deal with this. Can you step in?"
"Ha!" Uchiha Naori chuckled softly, covering her mouth. "Finally something you can't handle, huh? Leave it to me."
She approached, took Hikari from Kaito's hands, and activated her Mangekyō Sharingan. With a single genjutsu, Hikari fell into a deep sleep.
"I'll take her back first," Naori said as she lifted Hikari into her arms. She glanced at Kaito. "Clean up this mess and come back soon."
She nodded to Uzumaki Mito before teleporting away with Hikari.
"I'm leaving too," Mito said, vanishing shortly after.
Kaito walked forward, storing the long chakra-metal box into his spatial storage. He retrieved the fallen lid and stored that as well. After thoroughly inspecting the area to ensure nothing was left behind, he teleported back to the Uchiha residence in Konoha.
When he arrived, Naori had just stepped out of a guest room.
"How is she?" Kaito asked immediately.
"I just got back too," Naori replied, rolling her eyes. "Let her sleep for now. Once she wakes up, I'll start educating her properly."
"But she'll be fine," she added with a reassuring smile.
"Alright," Kaito said nonchalantly. With no immediate tasks, he took out a vial containing Uchiha Kagami's Mangekyō Sharingan and began analyzing the mysteries of its eye techniques with his mental energy.
"How's your research coming along?" Naori asked, intrigued as she walked over.
"I'm making progress," Kaito replied with a nod. "Give me some more time, and I should be able to figure out a way to produce Mangekyō Sharingan techniques."
"Once I crack this method, it'll be much easier to develop techniques for other Mangekyō Sharingan users in the future."
"By the way," he continued, "several of Hikari's techniques were forcibly transplanted into her by Uchiha ancestors centuries ago. Studying her Sharingan might also provide valuable insights and speed up my research."
"That said, mastering these Mangekyō techniques will probably come with significant limitations," Kaito added thoughtfully.
"At the very least, it'll require possessing a Sharingan with a level of ocular power three times that of a standard three-tomoe Sharingan."
"The eye and chakra pathways also need to be strong enough to handle the strain. Otherwise, the burden will be too much to bear."
"That makes sense," Naori nodded in understanding. "Even so, this is already a significant breakthrough. It can serve as a transitional technique for our clan members before they awaken the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan."
"Exactly," Kaito agreed. "That was my intention from the start."
After all, he had been reluctant to awaken his own Mangekyō Sharingan, fearing it would damage his eyes' potential. As a result, he had been unable to use Mangekyō techniques. If this new method allowed people to learn those techniques without such sacrifices, it would solve a major problem.
With his current level of ocular power and the strength of his chakra pathways, using Mangekyō techniques would no longer pose any difficulty.
"By the way," Naori said, her expression thoughtful. "How's your research on prematurely activating Susanoo? Is it applicable to others?"
"If it is," she continued, "it could solve the problem for clan members who take a long time to awaken their Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan. Some might even master Susanoo's power earlier than expected."
"I'm almost done," Kaito replied confidently. "I'll give you the training method later. It's definitely something anyone can learn."
He explained further, "To put it simply, you need to develop the Sharingan to a certain level, increase your mental energy, and grasp the right techniques. I've already organized everything into a comprehensive guide."
"With this method, any clan member who has awakened a three-tomoe Sharingan and reached the third stage of Sharingan meditation can learn to use Susanoo ahead of time."
"Here, take it." Kaito retrieved a scroll from his spatial storage and handed it to his mother. "Distribute it to the clan members who meet the requirements, and encourage everyone to work on their meditation techniques."
However, Naori waved her hand, refusing the scroll. "No, you should handle this personally," she said with a sly smile. "Think of it as a chance to improve your reputation."
"Haven't you been worried about not being able to win over some of the stubborn old-timers and the middle-aged folks?"
"This is an excellent opportunity!"
"Once they learn about this training method, they'll definitely be grateful to you."
"Who knows, maybe more of our clan members will meet the requirements for the contract."
Uchiha Naori genuinely hoped Kaito could bind all their clan members to the contract as soon as possible.
Not only would this further strengthen the Uchiha's power, but it would also ensure the loyalty of all their people.
No need to worry about anyone being tricked or manipulated by Black Zetsu, like Obito was.
"Uh... yeah, that makes sense! In that case, let's hold a clan meeting in a few days and announce this news!"
"At that time, I'll put the Susanoo training method in the clan's merit library so that qualified members can exchange for it."
Hearing this, Kaito was momentarily surprised, then nodded in agreement.
"Alright, do as you see fit."
Uchiha Naori had no objections, of course.
Over the next few days, Kaito was busy handling village affairs and training, barely catching a break.
To make things harder, Naori had to spend a lot of time counseling and training Uchiha Hikari, leaving Kaito with even more on his plate.
Fortunately, the situation with Hikari was improving.
At least now, she no longer attacked members of the Uchiha, Senju, or Uzumaki clans at random.
She had also come to terms with the fact that the Warring States era was long over and that things were different now.
She no longer needed to serve as a weapon of war.
Sadly, her personality and mindset still had significant issues. Fixing that wasn't something that could be done quickly.
"Maybe I could create a genjutsu world—a type of illusion technique—to quickly reshape her values and fix her emotional and personality flaws?"
As Kaito worked through the paperwork, he suddenly thought of Hikari and mused to himself.
"What kind of genjutsu world?"
Beside him, Uzumaki Mito asked curiously.
"Uh, well..."
Kaito gave a wry smile and explained, "I'm thinking about how to quickly fix Hikari's emotional and personality deficiencies and help her build proper values."
"Otherwise, my mother won't have the time to help me with this anytime soon."
"So, I came up with this idea for a genjutsu technique."
He then explained his general concept to Uzumaki Mito.
After hearing it, Mito raised an eyebrow. "This genjutsu of yours doesn't sound simple. It kind of reminds me of a simplified version of Infinite Tsukuyomi!"
"But it's clearly different, even from normal Tsukuyomi."
"Exactly!"
Kaito nodded with a smile. "That's precisely what it is."
Normal Tsukuyomi created a straightforward illusion space, while Infinite Tsukuyomi could weave a complete illusion world.
"But a technique like that would require extremely high levels of mental strength and imagination!"
Mito shook her head but then looked at Kaito and seemed to realize something. "Although, for you, that probably isn't a problem."
"So, what's the difficulty with creating this genjutsu?"
"It's Tsukuyomi," Kaito said thoughtfully, resting his chin on his hand. "I need to first create a training method for mastering Tsukuyomi, one of the Mangekyō Sharingan abilities. Then I can use that as a foundation to develop this genjutsu world."
"Tsukuyomi?"
Mito frowned slightly. "Doesn't that mean you'll have to study and understand the ability from Hikari's eyes?
"After all, neither Uchiha Kagami nor Naori had Tsukuyomi as their Mangekyō Sharingan abilities, right?"
In fact, no one truly knew what Naori's Mangekyō Sharingan abilities were.
The only known information was that they involved time and causality in some way.
It was strong—undeniably strong.
Her ability to create the Forbidden Sharingan Technique: Izanami was clearly related to it.
"Yes, I understand," Kaito nodded. "That's why I'll have to wait. I'll approach her once her mind is more stable."
"First, I need to develop the initial training method for a Mangekyō Sharingan ability and figure out the key principles."
In terms of practicality, he found that Kagami's Mangekyō ability was actually more useful.
It was a technique similar to Izanagi—an ultimate survival skill.
Unfortunately, despite having such a powerful ability, Kagami was outsmarted and killed by Danzo.
It all came down to his naivety and misplaced trust in Danzo and his group.
Otherwise, they could never have succeeded, let alone obtained his Mangekyō Sharingan.
In this way, Kagami was much like his grandson, Uchiha Shisui.
Like grandfather, like grandson—both far too naïve.
"Well, that's all Uchiha business. Do whatever you want."
Uzumaki Mito shook her head. "Anyway, the Senju and Uzumaki can't learn that stuff."
As she spoke, she looked regretful.
If the Senju and Uzumaki could learn Mangekyō Sharingan techniques, it would be a huge boost in strength for them, too.
"Who says they can't?"
Kaito raised an eyebrow and said, "Did you forget that our three clans have started intermarrying?"
"Currently, there are over a dozen married couples across the three clans!"
"Among them, there are three couples where Senju or Uzumaki married Uchiha women."
"In the future, there will be more people in your clans awakening the Sharingan."
"When that happens, they'll naturally benefit from these techniques."
