Chapter 46 Don’t be angry.

Andrew watched all the recordings, skipping some parts that were more personal and focusing only on the plans they were making.

However, there wasn't much new information to be gained from this, other than what he already knew.

He switched to their current conversation but there was also nothing interesting there, other than a few ladies burning with jealousy over Aelita's new jewelry.

It was quite entertaining and informative.

Who knew that women from other species loved the trinkets no less than the ones back on Earth?

Whatever the case, the jewelry was his gift for Aelita and it would stay that way unless she decided to give it to them, which he seriously doubted that she would.

With no new information, he closed the screen and decided to see how the resource gathering was going.

He was surprised when he saw no empty cubes at any of the substations and each one had five of them.

Immediately he detached some of the empty mid-sized storage modules, formed them into cubes, and sent them to the stations.

He cursed himself for neglecting this part of the operation and at the same time he wished that there was a way to automate this process.

Unfortunately, any attachment or detachment of a module requires his or Aelita's input and there was no way to go around that.

He could of course make larger cubes, but this might tip off the other station masters and the last thing he wanted was to give them a method to get resources faster, especially since they moved their stations giving him an advantage in that area.

Before the day ended, Andrew had enough resources to launch the third research, which he did without hesitation.

With that, he could now focus on collecting the resources for the ones that would follow, since he didn't plan on selling any of them to the merchant this time around.

That evening, Aelita surprised him, wearing a modest blue nightgown reaching beneath her knees, and without a trace of the transparent material on any of it, which in a way made her even more sexy and enticing.

However, since she, wasn't trying to seduce him, he would not repeat his actions from the previous night.

This time around they both fell asleep satisfied with being in each other's embrace.

The next day was quite normal, without anything of note happening.

So both of them returned to their routine, with the only exception being that Aelita figured out, how to connect the workshop module with the communications module, so she could talk with other ladies while she was working.

They discussed what they would buy from the merchant when he arrived the next day, and the other ladies were not shy about giving Aelita more advice about seducing her protector.

All of them cursed the pirates when they learned that their attack interrupted Aelita's and Andrew's intimate moment.

No matter how much they believed in the drug plan, they would all prefer to just allow the girl to seduce him and then convince the human to submit to them.

That way, they would all get what they wanted, without losing anything, except of course the human who would not be allowed to decide on anything without their approval.

However, they still had no idea that he was listening in on their conversations and laughed out loud when he heard their preferred plan.

Andrew even began to wonder if these women had any idea what they were doing.

Since for him, it looked more like some third-rate movie with an idiotic plot, than a plan to subdue him.

Not that he was complaining.

The more idiotic the plan the easier it would be to foil it and if they didn't have anything better than seduction, diplomacy, drugs, or waiting until they had a fleet capable of challenging him.

Then he was safe, with the only minor problem of Aelita who was still too naive to see what they were planning to do.

Aelita he could handle, especially if she tried to seduce him again as it was doubtful that there would be another pirate ship to bail her out this time.

Other than that the day went by quietly allowing him to study a bit when he wasn't busy attaching and detaching modules.

At the end of the day, his storage modules were all fully loaded and he could not do anything about it since all the research modules were occupied, for over twelve hours left, till the first one finished its research.

Just as he was about to finish his work and studies for the day.

Aelita entered the command center with an expression that said she had screwed something up and was trying to find a way to tell him without making him angry.

-What happened?

Andrew asked, seeing her hesitation to speak.

-Please, don't be angry, but I won't be able to give you the education capsule.

She said, with a bit of fear in her voice.

In her culture, if a property failed at something important, she was almost guaranteed to be abandoned by her protector as her failure damaged his reputation.

-Is that all?

Andrew asked surprised.

He suspected that she destroyed something important by accident or spilled one of the things he told her to keep a secret from the other ladies.

Aelita, looked at him like he just grew another head.

-What does he mean, is that all?

She thought, not understanding his reaction.

It looked like he wasn't even bothered by it.

-I wasted a lot of resources and time, with nothing to show for it, it's a big deal.

She almost shouted, not realizing it.

-No, it's not.

Andrew said with a slight smile.

He was amused, by this situation.

-Was she expecting me to punish her for something like this?

He thought.

-But…

-No buts.

Aelita tried to argue but was cut off.

-Did you build the machine?

-Yes, I did.

-Does it work?

-Yes.

She answered, not understanding where he was going with this.

-Then why can't I use it?

He asked.

-Because I have no idea how to calibrate it for your brain, the capsule is calibrated for Cheroni, and that's the only way I know how to build it, so it's useless to you.

She said, with self-blame.

-I, might not be able to use it, but that does not mean that you failed.

You promised me an education capsule and you made one, that's not a failure, and it's not your fault, that you can't calibrate it for me, so there is nothing to be sorry about.

He patiently explained.

-But, if you can't use it, then I just wasted a lot of precious resources.

She argued.

-First of all, you wasted nothing, and even if you did, we can always get more, so you don't have to worry about it.

Andrew said, trying his best not to laugh at her.

-Also, even if I can't use it, you can, so if you want to continue your education then you can use it for that.

He suggested.

-Or if you don't want to use it, we can either sell it to the merchant or just toss it back into the resource processing module to get the resources back.

So you wasted nothing and you didn't fail.

He finished, approaching and hugging her.

-And even if you did, waste some resources, I would not punish you for it in any way.

He whispered into her ear.

This was too much for the girl and she started sobbing.

She expected him to at least scold her, even hit her, and at worst, tell her to leave.

Instead, he comforted her and even told her that he would not punish her even if she wasted resources.

All of the emotions and feelings came flooding at that moment and the only way for her to vent, was to cry everything out.

In such a state, she barely noticed that he lifted her into his arms and carried her to the bedroom, where he laid her on the bed and stayed with her until she cried herself to sleep.
