Chapter 59 More than just a doctor.

After their conversation, Lanarine decided to do some work, to keep her mind occupied.

It was preferable, to constantly wondering if she would be called a traitor if the others would even hear her out before hating her, or if Andrew would keep his promise and do his best not to hurt them.

His words about the easiest way were constantly replaying in her head, so she decided to escape into her work.

The six hours passed very fast and Lanarine got a notification of the incoming call.

-Hey geologist, did you forget about me?

The doctor asked after she picked up.

-Sorry, I was doing some scans, and lost track of time.

-Why am I not surprised?

The alien woman shook her head.

-On the other hand, I'm the same so I can't complain too much.

She added with a smile.

-I'm ready to be transferred, so if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to go check up on Aelita as soon as possible.

-Which module are you in?

Lan asked.

-I'm in a life support module, next to my beginning module.

She explained.

-Alright, the drones are on their way, do you prefer to be docked closer to me or the medical module?

Lanarine asked.

-The medical module, that way I can check on Aelita and then come find you to call the others.

-Alright, you will be docked close to the medical module, see you when you get here.

She said and the connection was lost, as the drones detached the module with the doctor inside.

-Dock her to this module.

Andrew said coming closer and pointing at a module that was a short distance from medical but also offered him the best place to remain unnoticed when the doctor came into the station.

-Alright, but please be gentle with her.

-I'll do my best, if everything goes according to plan, she will only have a needle mark on her neck.

He said putting his helmet on and leaving to take his position as the doctor would arrive in a few minutes.

He managed to arrive with three minutes to spare and hid himself in the next module over, that way when the doctor came out to go to the medical module, she would have nowhere to run while he would be behind her.

The three minutes went by in an instant and before he knew it, he heard the sound of connecting modules and opening airlocks.

Then he heard steps but to his surprise, they were not going further away in the direction of the medical module, but getting closer, to him.

-Did she manage to detect me somehow?

He thought and prepared, to jump out, but to his surprise, he heard her speak.

-Come out, I know that yure there.

She said stopping a few steps from his hiding spot.

Andrew rose to his feet and came out with his weapon at the ready.

To his surprise, she had her hands up, and empty.

She wasn't even wearing her space suit helmet.

-Turn around, get on your knees, and put your hands behind your head!

He said, trying to sound intimidating.

-There is no need for all this.

She said, but she followed the instructions, not wanting to risk her life when she had a weapon aimed at her.

-Forgive me for not taking your word on that.

Andrew said coming closer, switching his P-90, for a pistol and taking out handcuffs with his other hand.

He cuffed her hands behind her back and helped her to get on her feet.

Seeing that he put the gun back into its holster, she quickly spun around, and before he could even react she kicked him in the head.

The helmet absorbed most of the force, but he still staggered back.

He barely had time to catch his balance before, she kicked him again, after that she jumped up and kicked him with both legs in his chest making him fall.

The doctor also fell but was on her feet much faster than Andrew and she had her hands in front now.

She tried to kick him again, while he was getting up, but this time he was ready and caught her leg before it hit him and pulled, making her lose her balance and fall face-first to the floor.

Before she could even try to get up, she heard a click followed by something hitting her, and then she felt an unimaginable pain course through her whole body, making her unable to move or even think.

The pain stopped quickly, but it left her unable to do anything when she was getting her hands cuffed behind her back again and her legs were cuffed together, with three pairs of handcuffs, allowing her to walk, but making it impossible for her to kick again.

Then she felt hands grabbing her and standing her on her feet again, this time without a care if it hurt her.

-Try this again, and I will shoot you.

She heard a voice muffled by the helmet and felt something hard pressing against her back.

-Move!

She was pushed forward and could only obey taking small steps forward.

Andrew was surprised at her skills, if he wasn't wearing his armor, she could have defeated him, but thankfully he was cautious and it paid off.

He took the feisty doctor to the command center and this time she offered no resistance at all.

-What happened, why is she cuffed so much?

Lanarine asked seeing the cuffs on the doctor's hands and legs.

-This friend of yours is much more than just a doctor if I wasn't wearing my armor, she would most likely have knocked me out back then, and she also managed to figure out where I was hiding.

Andrew explained, letting go of his prisoner and taking his helmet off.

He then took out the box and took out a vial and the syringe.

Seeing this, the doctor backed away, her light green skin becoming even lighter in color.

-What is this, what are you going to do to me?

She asked while panicking and trying to get away.

-Something that is much less damaging than that drug of yours.

Andrew said with an evil grin, approaching her with the syringe already loaded with the chip injection.

The doctor was doing her best to escape but with her legs bound, there was no way that she could move faster than him.

She was terrified, seeing his expression and the syringe with an unknown substance in his hand.

Lanarine was looking at the whole situation, not knowing what to do as she had never seen this side of Andrew.

He finally caught her, not that it was hard, he just wanted to scare her, for what she did earlier.

She was still struggling, trying to avoid the needle.

-If you do not stop moving, I will zap you again, and give you the shot then.

He threatened her, and it worked.

Hearing his threat, she immediately stopped moving and a moment later the needle pierced her skin and with a pull of a trigger on the syringe, the tube was emptied into her body.

Her neck felt a bit stiff after the injection, but the human backed away putting the tool and an empty vial back into the box.

-Chip 01 activate, set the control to level 1.

He said while having his back turned to her.

She had no idea what this was about, but she had a bad feeling about it.

-Lan, take the cuffs off, they are no longer needed.

The human said, tossing a small key to Lanarine who immediately proceeded to remove the handcuffs.

The doctor had no idea what was going on, but the moment she was free she pounced at the human once more, trying to take advantage of the situation as he removed his helmet and even freed her.

But before she could punch him, her body froze.

Seeing her action, Andrew sighed.

-Calm down, you won't be able to hit me again.

He said, shaking his head.

-What have you done to me?

She asked angrily.

-Nothing much, just implanted you with a slavery chip.

He said, calmly, like it was a trivial matter.

Hearing his answer, the doctor was shocked.

then she turned her head to Lanarine.

-Why did you help him, why did you betray us?

She demanded angrily.

-She can explain that later, right now, you need to make a call and tell the others that everything is fine.

Andrew said.

-I will not help you like this traitor.

The doctor refused angrily.

-First of all, she is no traitor, and before you call her that again, hear what she has to say, secondly, you will help whether you like it or not.

Andrew said with a smile.

-Chip 01 set control at level 5.

The doctor immediately understood what he meant as she lost control over her body.

-Now you will call, the others and tell them that you arrived safely, if they ask about Aelita, tell them that she is still in the tank but you had no time to look deeper into her diagnosis, If they ask about me, then you will tell them that I'm still drugged.

Behave naturally, and don't try to warn them.

Do you understand?

He gave his instructions.

-I understand and obey, Master.

She said in her natural voice.

But inside, she was fuming.

-How dare this human make me into a slave and use me to trick my friends?

She thought to herself as that was all she could do.

The call went smoothly and the other three ladies believed that everything was alright.

-Good job ladies.

Andrew said.

-Chip 01, set control to level 1.

The moment he said that the doctor regained control over her body and fell to her knees, tears flowing from her eyes.

-You don't get to hurt Lanarine or Aelita.

Andrew gave the order.

-Now I'm going to get out of this armor, in the meantime, you ladies have a lot to talk about and I advise you to listen to Lanarine.

He said and left the command center, taking his helmet and the box with him.

As soon as he was gone, the doctor looked at Lan with hostility.

-You better have a good reason for helping him do this.

She said, furious at the woman in front of her.

-I do, and when you hear the whole story, you might change your mind about this whole thing.

Lanarine said and began to tell her what happened from the moment she arrived at this station.

As she heard the whole story, the anger that she felt, started to fade away, replaced by fear towards the human and gratitude towards Lanarine.

The doctor had no idea how close she came to dying today.

-And that's all, the rest you know.

If you still want to call me a traitor and hate me, then I can understand that.

-I'm sorry.

The doctor said.

-I called you a traitor when you were trying your best to keep us safe.

-I don't blame you, in the end, I did lure you into a trap.

-True, but thanks to you, I'm still alive.

If not for the promise he had made, I think he would have killed me when I attacked him before.

She said, shuddering at the thought that she could have really died back then.
