Chapter 77 - Their first embrace

Haruki's eyes dilated, his vision briefly darkening, but after a decisive bite on his lip, the jolt of pain barely kept him grounded.

But the wind didn't take it lightly.

The wind whistled sharply through the trees, leaving small cuts in the branches as it passed. Then it burst through Lanling's bedroom, slamming the doors open with rude force. The wind was clearly filled with indignation on Haruki's behalf, eager to cause havoc in response.

Haruki slammed his hand on the table. "Enough! I told you to behave!"

His outburst halted the wind's advance, the suddenness of it causing the world to feel muted for a moment. Then, slowly, the wind resumed its movement, but with a sluggishness that made it seem almost dejected.

Haruki let out a long sigh as he sank back into his chair, only to freeze when the weight of his actions finally hit him. He cautiously turned his gaze to Lanling.
