Chapter 111 - Before going to Aetheris' Castle

Lanling and Haruki snuggled a little longer as no one had gone up to check on them. When they finally went downstairs to the living room, they discovered that the King had hastily invited all the nobles of the kingdom for a banquet and had thus delayed the meeting for another day.

The letter of apology the King sent was unnecessarily long, and the list of accompanying gifts nearly made Takeshi's head explode.

"The eastern kingdoms traditionally only accept actual items as gifts. Sending gold is tantamount to declaring war," Lanling explained briefly. Though satisfied with the list, he still arrogantly instructed Mainu to deliver a message to the King, expressing his disappointment with a straight face.

Afterwards, Lanling berated the incubus, who had been caught by the newly arrived mages in the living room, shamelessly indulging himself.

With everyone finally settled, the unexpected day off was welcomed with a mixture of anxiety and relief.
