Haruki moved subconsciously, his mind blanked, his steps light as a feather. With a fluid leap, he jumped onto the balcony railings of the third floor and soared effortlessly over to their room's balcony—skipping two floors.
The action didn't register at all as Haruki moved with an almost mechanical precision, making his way to the bed. He tossed Lanling over, locking his hands with his and pinning them to the bed. The reddened rims of his eyes made him appear almost mad, the tears that had pooled earlier were now dry.
