Chapter 146 - Another dreary day

Six months later.

It was bound to be another dreary day. The rain hadn't stopped, and though the Silvera Palace was shielded by an invisible sphere that kept it at bay while regulating the temperature to a comfortable degree, it wasn't capable of producing daylight.

The skies remained in perpetual darkness, blurring the passage of time. With no true sense of tomorrow, it was all too easy to sleep through noon.

Lanling lay on a vast white jade bed, cushioned by soft blue bedding and pillows. A darker, intricately woven silk draped above as a canopy, its delicate folds were gently being nudged by the wind. He stirred awake for the nth time, and when he shifted over, he finally noticed that something was missing.

His eyes dragged open, staring blankly into the empty space before him. If this had been the first month, thunder might have rumbled in the distance. But now, there was nothing. There was only silence in the depths of his sky-blue eyes.
