A heart out of reach

A deranged young boy tries to win the heart of 30-year-old Riff. He never imagined it would be impossible to make it onto his list. Despite all he's given up, he's nowhere close. Riff won't even bat an eye at him. What else can he give to get even a little acknowledgement.

It didn't change the fact, I wanted to please Riff. I wanted him to see me, to look at me differently, look at me like... like I actually mattered. What was this? I was fucked. This wasn't me. This couldn't be me.



"You, boy, are a wild one, and now someone has your leash." Johnson's voice echoed in my head, taunting me. I clenched my fists, trying to push it away. No one has my leash! I screamed, the word desperate.
