Dahlia was a very terrifying enemy to have. Not only was she a fearless warrior who wasn't afraid of death, she was also extremely cunning and vengeful. Omen knew she was probably conjuring up a hideous plan to kill General Arthur, and he really didn't care but since there was a high chance her plan could collide with his. He thought it fare to at least know what was going through her mind.
But seeing as she ruthlessly tortured Barwin for information on the rougue knight's wereabout he decided to abandon such thoughts. That night Omen decided to look into his soul and scroll through all his current abilities and even he was shocked by their current number.
His passive abilities included; [Night vision], [Lie detection], [Tree walker], [Vibration Sense], [Enhanced sense], [Soul attack Immunity], [physical attack immunity], [mental attack immunity], [enhanced durability], [thermal sensing], [Iron lungs], [enhanced agility],[under water breathing], [ Body thermal configuration], [precognition], [instant self regeneration], [life sensing], [pain nullification], [enhanced strength], [X-ray vision].
Omen was honestly surprised, he knew he'd stolen a lot of abilities but never this much, and the best part was that these were only his passive skills. The ones that didn't require exogene to activte and were just a part of his body. But it still pained him that all his active abilities meanwhile where completely greyed out and couldn't even be used without General arthur's permission. He peered into his soul sea once more and skimmed through the list.
Active abilities: [Healing], [exogene sensing], [instant dash], [instant navigation, [ultra-vibration sensing],[lazer beam], [ Immobilization] [sand phasing], [instant drill], [beast summoning], [soul manipulation], [pyrokinesis] and many others including the uncontrollable beast aura that could summon the most malicious beasts to kill him, unfortunately he couldn't even activate any of them.
Omen decided to stop his immersion as he felt a sudden movement. He didn't even need to open his eyes to sense the thermal form of Virgo as she sneaked out of the camp.
'what is she up to?', Omen thought to himself and after waiting for a while he followed silently after her. The forest outsie was extremely calm and Omen had to take to the trees for a more stealthy approach. Virgo had no problem navigating in the moonlit forest and after a while she came to a clearing thirty minutes away from their makeshift camp.
'Is she here to see someone?', Omen wondered as he observed her through the trees. He didn't have to wait long though as a man walked through the bushes and came to stand in front of her. The man was completely cloaked but with the combined power of [thermal sense], [night vision], and [xray vision], hhe was able to discern who was hidden there, and e was quite shocked by the revelation.
It was Captain Don.
"Princess", the man said as he knelt before her. Omen observed everything in shock "we've tracked down the egg's location—"
"Don't worry about that. One of my team mates took care of it", Virgo said in that calm voice of hers as she looked down at Captain Don "you may rise"
He immediately obeyed as he then continued "But he's extremely dangerous and unpredictable, your father wouldn't want this for you prin—"
"If he didn't want me here then he shouldn't have banished me"
Omen was quite surprised at this turn of events. He only wanted to know what Virgo was up to and now he was uncovering many things. He'd known she was a princess but the rest where surprising news to him, and more was still coming.
"what's the development of the plan? We've wasted enough time as it is" Virgo said as she pulled out a small brown and squeezed it into his hands "I believe that should be enough. Any more and my team mates would bein suspecting me"
"If you want princess, could kill them"
"Don't bother, if what we know about the rougue commander is through then theyd be taken care of during the battle. Now prepare the twins, we have to begin soon enough", Virgo said and immediately turned. Captain Don said nothing more as he bowed and left.
'Well would you look at that', Omen was pleased with this development. He always knew something was wron with virgo right from wen he met her. First unlike Dahlia she was less restricted in the slave cell and when she came to the battle slave arena she acted weird and had seemed to already know Captain Don and some things about the slave arena. But what he never considered was that she was an outright enemy to the kingdom.
'but she's human, does that mean dahlia's people and Virgo's people are both enemies of the kingdom', Omen had a lot of questions but Virgo was already gaining ground so he had to quit his pondering and move through the canopies as quickly as possible.
…..
The woodland was strangely quiet as the squad approached the cabin; the slow warmth of the evening's light filtered through the tree branches, sending long, twisting shadows across the ground and bathing the area in a deepening dusk. Ahead, the outline of the cottage Barwin had described came into view—a small, dark structure nestled in the corner of the clearing, barely visible under the canopy. They had walked for hours in search of this place and finally they saw it.
It was quiet, too quiet. The silence pressed in on them, amplifying every crack of a twig, every breath they took. Omen's sharp eyes swept the area, scanning for any sign of movement. His muscles tensed as he felt a shift in the air—something wasn't right.
"The knight has been hiding here since he stole the egg," Virgo's voice broke the silence, her brows furrowed in cofusion "Why? Don't you think that's suspicious?" As their squad leader, she was always calculating, always cautious, and the thought of walking straight into a trap weighed heavily on her mind.
Omen glanced sideways at her before turning his gaze back to the dark cottage, if he hadn't seen her last night he would have been fooled by her lack of knowledge. "Barwin was telling the truth," he said quietly, his voice low but certain. "The knight is here, and for some reason, he's not capable of leaving." His eyes flickered as he considered the situation further, what he said was true, afterall if the rogue knight could leave it would have done so long ago. "If there is any trap, it would be that the enemy already has allies and has laid an ambush, but so far, I haven't detected any abnormality."
"Uhmm… guys," Kol's voice broke through the thick silence, barely above a whisper, his usual composure crumbling under the weight of fear. "I think we've found our guy."
All four pairs of eyes snapped toward the small wooden steps of the black cottage. There, sitting in the fading light, was the knight—his figure dark and foreboding, clad in his black, polished helmet and armor. His posture was unnervingly calm as he stared at them with cold, unblinking eyes, his gauntleted hands resting on his knees as though he had been expecting them. Beside him, resting on the step like some terrible prize, was the large black oval egg. Its surface gleamed faintly in the dim light, its presence radiating an unnatural stillness that seemed to swallow all sound.
The knight didn't move, his gaze unwavering, watching them with an eerie patienceA cold feeling rushed down Omen's spine as they all stood motionless.
Then—Boom! The sound of metal tearing through flesh disrupted the silence. Without warning, the knight swung his great sword in a terrifying arc, striking faster than anyone was able to react. The blade slashed through the air with lethal accuracy, cutting one of their own severely in the chest. The awful thud of a person dropping to the ground, lifeless, rang throughout the area. Blood gushed in a spiral, splattering the woodland floor.
The shock of it hit them like a tidal wave. Their gazes widened with terror, and their bodies recoiled from the horrible image. For a short while, no one moved, startled by the ferocity of what had happened. It had only been seconds, and already, one of them was dead…Virgo had fallen.
"You bastard!!" Omen's voice exploded in a scream, internally though he was pissed off 'What the fuck?didn't she have a plan to stop the get us killed by the knight! How is she the first to die', but then Omen used [thermal sense] on her and was still able to detect her lifeforce, she was still alive but with such a grievoious wound he doubted she'd survive 'Is she planning on faking her death!'. His mind went back to the battle and before anyone could stop him, he launched himself at the knight. His twin swords flashed in the dim light as he darted around the armored figure, his movements fast, fluid, deadly. He attacked with violent precision, his blades slicing through the air in vicious arcs. But with every strike, his swords clanged uselessly against the knight's black armor, sparks flying but no damage inflicted.
'What!' Omen's thoughts raced, disbelief mixing with his growing anger. His strength was already suppressed because of the imprint seal, but these schmitars were still very powerful.
His confusion only deepened as the knight, with an almost effortless motion, lifted his leg and delivered a brutal kick to Omen's chest. The impact was devastating. Omen shielded himself by crossing both blades across his chest on time but the kick broke right through and still struck him, Omen's body was sent flying backwards, hurtling through the air before smashing into a tree with bone-rattling force. The rough bark scraped his back as pain exploded through him, leaving him breathless and disoriented. He crumpled to the ground, gasping for air, his entire body screaming in agony. [pain nullification] already did it job but Fuck! It was still godamn painful.
Even with the seal on him, he had three passive skills that prevented him from bleeding; enhanced durability, physical attack immunity, and even pain nullification…they were all rendered useless!...
…But then, amid the pain and confusion, a new, more horrifying realization dawned on him—he wasn't healing! His eyes widened in shock as he struggled to sit up, his hands trembling as they reached for the injuries that should've been mending by now. His body, which had always healed rapidly, remained broken, bruised, and weak. The terror of the situation hit him full force.
…Something was terribly, terribly wrong.
