### Chapter 10: **Unveiling Intentions**
**Scene 1: Shadows of Conspiracy**
The morning sun streamed into a lavish office, the kind of chill that seeps into the bones and lingers, but the atmosphere inside was anything but bright. A businessman paced angrily in his grand office, his polished shoes clicking on the marble floor. Outside, the sky was heavy with dark clouds, as though the heavens mirrored his stormy mood.
In front of him stood two men, their heads bowed, avoiding his piercing gaze, shivering slightly—not from the cold, but from fear.
**Businessman** (yelling): *"Where the hell were you two when Yong caught the attacker?!"*
His voice roared, reverberating through the room. *"Did the ground swallow him whole?! Or did the sky eat him?!"*
One of the men shifted nervously, glancing up briefly before lowering his gaze again.
**Man 1** (timidly): *"B-Boss... I didn't know Yong would catch him. I thought... I thought he would just kill Eun Kyung and then return quietly."*
The businessman slammed his fist onto the desk, making both men flinch.
**Businessman**: *"What the hell was you thinking?! Now, how are we supposed to know if that fool told Yong anything?!"*
The second man, sensing the rising tension, quickly chimed in, his tone cautious but firm.
**Man 2**: *"Boss, don't think Yong knows anything yet. We've been monitoring him closely. Yong hasn't shown any signs of knowing anything. If he did, he would have told Joo Hyun or Eun Kyung by now. He's behaving... completely normal."*
The businessman paused, narrowed his eyes, his pacing slowing as he considered the words. He paced the room, rubbing his chin thoughtfully before turning back to them.
**Businessman** (gritting his teeth): *"Hmm... you might be right. But I'm not taking any more chances this time. I want that girl gone. Finish her as soon as possible."*
The two men exchanged uneasy glances but both men nodded, their faces pale.
**Businessman**: *"And this time, no mistakes, make sure everything goes perfectly. Keep me updated minute by minute. I don't want another disaster like last night."*
He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a dangerous growl.
**Businessman**: *"Understood?!"*
Both men nodded vigorously, muttering their agreement.
**Both man**:*"Yess Boss!!"*
The businessman walked to the window, his gaze fixed on the ominous clouds gathering outside.
**Businessman** (murmuring darkly): *"And Yong... you'll learn the price of betraying me soon enough."*
The tension in the room was suffocating as the scene faded to black.

**Scene 2: The Weight of Protection**
The sun had risen, but Yong's room was still dim, the curtains drawn tight, the faint morning light struggled to pierce through the heavy curtains. Yong sat up in bed, his eyes heavy with sleeplessness, his body stiff from the tension of the night before. The events of the previous night replayed in his mind like a broken record. The room was cold, a reminder that the first rain was imminent.
Dragging himself out of bed, he stumbled into the bathroom, he turned on the tap and splashed cold water onto his face, hoping it would clear his mind. But the thoughts of the attack refused to leave him.
He stared at his reflection in the mirror, his hands gripping the edge of the sink. The faint cut near his lip caught his attention, a painful reminder of his confrontation.
**Yong** (to himself): *"I need to do something... something to keep Eun Kyung safe."*
He leaned on the sink, his knuckles turned white as he tightened his grip on the sink.
**Yong**: *"Whoever is behind this... they're watching us. I can't afford to make a single mistake. I have to be careful with every decision I make."*
He splashed water on his face again. Straightening up, he looked at his reflection with renewed determination.
**Yong**: *"Eun Kyung's safety comes first. No matter what it takes. I won't let anything happen to her. Not again."*
The scene faded as Yong dried his face, his mind already formulating plans.

**Scene 3: A Heart's Confusion**
Eun Kyung's room was cozy, warmed by the faint sunlight that filtered through the clouds. She sat on her bed, her thoughts far away.
Her cheeks flushed as she recalled the moment from the night before—the moment Yong's face had been so close to hers.
She woke up, dragging herself out of bed. She glanced at herself in the mirror, a shy smile tugging at her lips as a blush spread across her cheeks.
**Eun Kyung** (giggling softly): *"What's happening to me?"*
She touched her cheeks, her fingers cool against the heat rising from her skin.
**Eun Kyung**: *"Why am I blushing? Why am I thinking so much about him? He's not that good."*
She paused, her expression softening.
**Eun Kyung**: *"But... he is good. He's really good."*
She let out a small laugh, shaking her head at herself. Lying back on the bed, she stared at the ceiling, her fingers lightly tracing patterns on the blanket.
**Eun Kyung** (muttering): *"I don't understand anything. Why am I like this?"*
Suddenly, she sat up, her eyes lighting up as if she had an epiphany.
**Eun Kyung** (excitedly): *"Should I ask Yong about this?"*
But the thought made her cheeks turn an even deeper shade of pink, and she quickly shook her head.
**Eun Kyung**: *"No, no, no. That's too embarrassing. I can't ask him."*
She tapped her chin thoughtfully, her brows furrowing in concentration. She chewed on her lip, pondering. Then her face lit up with realization, her expression brightened as another idea struck her.
**Eun Kyung** (with a hopeful smile): *"I'll ask Joo Hyun! Maybe he'll know what's happening to me. Yes, that's it!"*
Her smile widened, and she nodded to herself as though she had just solved a great mystery.
**Eun Kyung** (with a contented sigh): *" Yes!! This is the right choice. Joo Hyun will definitely help me figure it out."*
The scene ended with Eun Kyung looking out of her window, her expression radiated hope and determination as she got up from the bed, the scene closing with her newfound resolve, her face lit with a mixture of excitement and nervousness, as the dark clouds gathered above, promising the first rain.

**Scene 4: A Conversation on the Terrace**
The sky above was a dull gray, with the cool breeze of an impending rain swirling around. On the terrace, Joo Hyun stretched lazily, enjoying the crisp morning air on the terrace. The first rain of the season was near, making the breeze slightly cooler than usual. He yawned and was about to sit down, Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps broke the calm, followed by an urgent voice calling his name.
**Eun Kyung** (calling out, breathless): *"Joo Hyun! Joo Hyun!"*
Joo Hyun, startled by the sudden outburst, flinched and stumbled backward, almost tripping over a nearby chair. His hands flew to his chest as though steadying his heartbeat.
**Joo Hyun** (frightened, shouting): *"What the—Eun Kyung! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!"*
Eun Kyung, slightly out of breath, stopped in her tracks and looked at him apologetically.
**Eun Kyung**: *"Sorry! I didn't mean to scare you."*
Still clutching his chest, Joo Hyun narrowed his eyes, though the corners of his lips twitched upward. Startled, Joo Hyun spun around, his brows furrowing in confusion.
**Joo Hyun** (teasingly): *"Eun Kyung? You're here? Wow, how did you remember me today? What's this, did Yong take the day off from your thoughts?"*
Eun Kyung stopped in her tracks, slightly flustered. She crossed her arms defensively, trying to maintain her composure.
**Eun Kyung**: *"There's nothing like that! I just came to talk to you. Do I need a reason to talk to you now?"*
Joo Hyun squinted at her, rubbing his chin suspiciously. Joo Hyun raised an eyebrow, his playful suspicion evident.
**Joo Hyun** (smirking): *"Just like that? Really?"*
Eun Kyung rolled her eyes, letting out an exasperated sigh.
**Eun Kyung**: *"Okay, fine! I... actually wanted to ask you something."*
Joo Hyun's eyes widened in mock shock, his hand dramatically clutching his chest again.
**Joo Hyun**: *"Ask me? Seriously, me?!"*
Eun Kyung nodded, trying to stay serious despite his antics.
**Eun Kyung**: *"Yes, you. Who else would I ask?"*
Joo Hyun chuckled, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
**Joo Hyun** (grinning): *"Well, I always knew I had a vast pool of knowledge. But sadly, no one ever recognized my genius. It's a lonely life, being so brilliant and underappreciated. But now, here you are, finally acknowledging my hidden talent."*
He leaned against the railing, his posture casual, but his smirk was anything but subtle.
**Joo Hyun**: *"Don't worry. Since you're my friend, I'll share my wisdom with you—for free, of course. Consider it a gift."*
Eun Kyung groaned, rolling her eyes dramatically.
**Eun Kyung**: *"Oh, Joo Hyun! You've gone way too far in praising yourself. Should I just ask my question now?"*
Joo Hyun straightened up, holding up his hands in mock surrender.
**Joo Hyun**: *"Okay, okay! I'm sorry. Go ahead, ask your question."*
Eun Kyung took a deep breath, her fingers fidgeting slightly as she tried to frame her thoughts. She hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to begin. Then, after gathering her thoughts, she turned back to Joo Hyun and asked in a slightly nervous tone:
**Eun Kyung:** *"If a girl… umm… starts having feelings for a boy after seeing him, and… and she starts blushing whenever he talks to her… If, in her mind, she feels happy just by being around him… and when he looks at her, her heart beats really fast... what does that mean?"*
She spoke in a very innocent, childlike way, her eyes wide as if she truly had no clue about the answer. Joo Hyun, who had been listening with an amused expression, at first, just stared at her, blinking a few times , suddenly grinned. His eyes twinkled with mischief as he leaned slightly closer.
**Joo Hyun (teasingly):** *"It means she loves him."*
Eun Kyung's expression was priceless—her brows furrowed, her mouth slightly open, and her head tilted like she had just heard the most confusing thing in the world. Eun Kyung's breath hitched slightly. She quickly looked down at the ground, her mind racing. *Love?* The word felt foreign, unfamiliar… yet strangely thrilling.
**Eun Kyung (innocently):** *"Love? what that it is."*
Joo Hyun's eyes widened in disbelief. Then, he suddenly burst into laughter, holding his stomach.
**Joo Hyun (laughing loudly):** *"Wait, wait, wait—what?! You don't know what love is?! Oh, this is gold! I can't believe it!"*
Eun Kyung pouted slightly, crossing her arms in annoyance.
**Eun Kyung (annoyed):** *"Yah! Stop laughing and just explain!"*
Joo Hyun wiped a fake tear from his eye and took a deep breath, placed a hand on his chin, pretending to be deep in thought. Then, in an overly philosophical tone, he began explaining:
**Joo Hyun:** *"Alright, listen carefully. Love is a complex emotion that can be expressed in many ways. It's when you feel a deep attachment, affection, or attraction toward someone. Sometimes, love makes you happy—like your heart is floating. Other times, it can make you sad, like your heart is breaking. It's powerful, unpredictable, and sometimes very annoying, but it's also one of the best feelings in the world."*
Eun Kyung, who had been listening intently, slowly nodded in understanding.
**Eun Kyung (softly):** *"Oh..."*
Then, as if realization suddenly struck her, she froze. Her eyes widened in shock, and a wave of confusion spread across her face, she turned to Joo Hyun in shock.
**Eun Kyung (panicked):** *"Wait, W-what?! No, no! That's not possible!"*
Joo Hyun tilted his head, smirking.
**Joo Hyun:** *"What's not possible?"*
**Eun Kyung (frantically):** *"What you just said! It can't be true! Are you joking with me??"*
Joo Hyun crossed his arms, looking at her like a wise professor dealing with a stubborn student.
**Joo Hyun:** *"No why would I joke with you? and Why not? If a girl has all these feelings, then it means she loves him. Simple as that."*
Eun Kyung opened her mouth to argue but found herself at a loss for words. She stood there, blinking, her hands gripping the hem of her sweater tightly. Her heart was racing, her mind was spinning, and she didn't know how to process what she had just heard.
**Eun Kyung (thinking to herself):** *"Do I really… love Yong?"*
Shaking her head furiously, she muttered something under her breath and quickly turned away.
Joo Hyun, seeing her thoughtful expression, narrowed his eyes suspiciously.
**Joo Hyun** (raising an eyebrow): *"Wait a minute. Why are you asking me this?"*
He leaned forward, studying her face.
**Joo Hyun** (grinning): *"Have you fallen in love with someone? Right? Right?"*
Eun Kyung's face immediately turned red, and she frantically waved her hands in denial.
**Eun Kyung** (shyly): *"N-no, no! I was just asking! Just out of curiosity!"*
Joo Hyun smirked, clearly not convinced.
**Joo Hyun** (mocking): *"Just like that?"*
Eun Kyung hesitated for a second, then quickly came up with an excuse.
**Eun Kyung (nervously):** *"Actually! I was watching a drama last night, and the female lead had these kinds of feelings for the main lead. That's why I just asked you!"*
Joo Hyun smirked, clearly enjoying her flustered reaction.
**Joo Hyun (mocking):** *"Ohh, a drama, huh?"*
**Eun Kyung (nodding rapidly):** *"Yes! Just a drama! Nothing more!"*
Then, before Joo Hyun could question her further, she turned on her heel and walked away. As she descended the stairs, her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.
Without waiting for a response, she hurriedly walked away, her mind still in chaos, there was a whirlwind of thoughts in her mind. As Eun Kyung walked away, her steps slowed, and her mind buzzed with Joo Hyun's words.
*"Love? No, that's not possible… right?"*
She placed a hand over her chest, feeling the rapid beat of her heart—a rhythm she had only noticed around Yong. Her eyes widened slightly as warmth crept up her neck.
*"Why… why does it always happen when he's near?"*
She quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss the thought.
*"No, no! This is just some nonsense Joo Hyun said. He's always exaggerating!"*
Yet, deep inside, a small voice whispered—*but what if he's right?*
Meanwhile, Joo Hyun leaned against the terrace railing, watching her retreating figure. A knowing smirk tugged at his lips.
**Joo Hyun (chuckling to himself):** *"Denial is always the first step."*
He stretched his arms and glanced up at the sky. The crisp wind carried the scent of the approaching season, the clouds growing heavier. The first winter snow was not far off—just like Eun Kyung's realization.
Back in her room, Eun Kyung stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. Her fingers brushed against her warm cheeks as she mumbled to herself.
*"Could I really… love Yong?"*
For the first time, she didn't shake her head. Instead, she lowered her gaze, her heart whispering an answer she wasn't quite ready to accept. Lost in her thoughts, completely unaware that her heart had already found its answer.
And with that, the scene faded, leaving the snowfall and her emotions to arrive at their own time.

"What do you think, did Eun kyung really fall in love with Yong or is it just a misconception in Eun kyung's mind? Comment!!"
