Marian's POV
The idea came to me suddenly.
Aiden had been working late all week, barely making it home before I fell asleep. I wasn't complaining—this was his world, and I understood that. But today, I wanted to do something different. Something for him.
So, I decided to bring him lunch.
I packed a meal myself—something simple but made with care—and called for the driver. The closer we got to his office, the more I realized I'd never actually been inside his company before. I knew about it, of course. It was an empire. Ruthless, efficient, and respected. Just like Aiden.
When we pulled up to the towering glass building, I stepped out, adjusting my coat. The receptionist blinked in surprise as I approached.
"Mrs. Callahan," she said, straightening instantly. "We weren't expecting you."
"I didn't call ahead." I smiled. "Is Aiden in his office?"
"Yes, ma'am." She hesitated. "Would you like me to announce you?"
"No need."
