So, I got used and dumped by my first boyfriend. I can't believe I went crazy for him. I felt like crying most of the time, but I reminded myself—he's not worth it.
Suddenly, Velvet appeared in my room.
"Don't let all this get into your head, Rockie."
"All what?" I asked, confused.
"Kyle."
She looked at me with that weird, knowing expression.
"No, he won't... but I will," I said as a crazy idea crossed my mind.
March 1, 2021
Hey, diary. I decided to go shopping today—I needed a wardrobe change. At the mall, I bought almost all the hottest and sexiest clothes they had.
When I got back home, I dumped my shopping bags on the bed and turned to Velvet.
"Velvet, I need one more favor."
"What now?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I have a math test today, and since no one but me can see you... you're going to help me. Cool?"
"Wait... you want me to cheat for you?"
"No, no. Don't think of it like that. Think of it as... um... helping." I tried to persuade her.
"And who says I'm good at math?" she smirked.
"Come on, who are you fooling? You're a spirit."
"So?" she challenged.
"So, you should know everything."
"But—"
"Thanks, Velvet. Oh, I'm so gonna ace this test!"
Feeling satisfied, I emptied my old wardrobe and replaced it with my new clothes. I picked out a yellow tank crop top that exposed my back and paired it with a very short black flare skirt. I tied my hair into a high ponytail, put on some mascara, powder, and lip gloss, then grabbed my white backpack and headed downstairs.
Mom gave me a long look.
"Wow. Why are you dressed like that, Rockie?"
Great, now what?
"It's my choice, Mom," I replied without looking at her, then hopped onto my power bike and rode off to school.
In class, I made sure to sit somewhere far from Kyle. The principal walked in, and we all greeted him in unison.
"We have a new student. Please welcome him," he announced.
And just like that, he walked in—Raiden.
Should I think of this as a blessing or a curse? I wondered.
The attendance teacher came in next.
"Raiden, can you please introduce yourself to the class?"
He stood at the front, looking cool and composed. He was tall, fair, and handsome, with long black hair that he usually plaited.
"Hey everyone, I'm Raiden Carter, but you can call me Ray—if it's less trouble."
He gave a casual smile and returned to his seat.
Finally, it was time for the math test, and as expected, Velvet appeared right next to me, whispering the answers. Thanks to her, math was a breeze. I used Velvet's help in every test, and soon, my teachers started getting suspicious.
"What's going on? You always fail math," Mr. Jimmy asked me.
"Well... I guess I had it in me all along," I said with a forced smile.
"And you thought now was the right time to show it?" he pressed.
"I guess..." I muttered and quickly left his office.
I heard there was a party tomorrow night at someone's house. Normally, I don't attend parties, but... would the new Rockie go?
Nah...
"Hey! What's up?" Rederick—ugh, I mean Raiden—said as he approached me.
"Isn't it enough that you're my soul-whatever partner? Now you're in my school too? Could life get any better?" I groaned.
"Rederick? It's Raiden."
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and turned to leave.
"Um... would you go to the party with me tomorrow night?" he asked, stopping me in my tracks.
"What do you think I am? I don't go to parties." I said, walking away.
Then I saw them. Right in front of my locker—Kyle and Diana, smooching or whatever disgusting thing they were doing.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I demanded, glaring at them.
"Um... this is my locker, you know," I added.
Diana smirked. "We were just talking about the party tomorrow night... Oh, you'll be there too, right? Oh wait, sorry! You won't—because you don't have a boyfriend. Oh, and I almost forgot—the one you had? Yeah, he used you and dumped you."
With a smug toss of her hair, she walked off, leaving me fuming.
"I'm so going to that party," I whispered, my anger boiling.
When I got home, I immediately messaged Raiden. Then I went straight to my wardrobe, rummaging through my clothes. I pulled out a yellow short gown.
No, this won't do. Kyle has to regret dumping me.
I need the sexiest outfit in town.
As I was brainstorming my revenge wardrobe, Velvet appeared.
"You know, you haven't even started training?" she said, arms crossed.
"I have other things to do right now, Velvet."
"You're letting Diana and Kyle get into your head. Have you forgotten what you're here for?"
"No, I haven't."
"Yes, you have. You need to start training."
"I don't need it, okay?"
"You can't even carry a bag that weighs 17kg, and you think you don't need it?"
I scoffed. "Is that it? So now you're insulting me? Do you even know what Kyle did to me? Do you have any idea? I loved him with my whole heart. I loved him so much, and he dumped me after just one week!"
Tears stung my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.
