Chapter 3

I came into class and sat down I brought out a book and I tried to understand the picture in the book puzzled."Hi,Julie what wrong?"Christopher asked. "I have told you to stop calling me that"I said. He looked at the picture for a short while and walked away. I pulled him back and asked him if he understood anything there he said he understood everything, And he explained to me. I thanked him and stood up. Later that day he asked me if we could meet at a restaurant tomorro and I told him l would think about it. When I got home I called Mary and asked her if She could help me babysit Kate tomorrow telling her I had a date with Christopher she immediately agreed. She told me she would even help me get dressed. The next day I told Christopher to expect me at 4.

***Preparing for The date**🌹*

 I stood in front of the mirror and touched my face the scar was boldly there. I applied different layers of makeup to cover it up. I then went to pick Kate from school to Mary's place after stuffing a gown in a bag, an heel shoe and a five dollar note.

 When I met Mary she wouldn't stop hyping me. I took out the gown and she burst out laughing and coughing. I saw some tear drops in her eyes. I asked her what was wrong "Oh my God baby girl you're too naive, You mean you wanna wear that for a date?"She asked."Sure, what's wrong with it?"I asked. She brought out a tight blue jeans and a white shirt a bit revealing my breasts. I hesitated for a while before agreeing to put it on she then applied some makeup on me. I left afterwards.

 ***The boring date***

When I got there I saw him waiting patiently and sipping juice. I sat close to him "Julie...ana what's all this rubbish on your face you didn't line that properly and the lipstick is on your nose,Go and wash it off if you don't wanna keep on looking like an illiterate monster"He said. I didn't want to argue I just stood up and did as he said. I then came back and sat down. He asked if I needed anything I just asked for a glass of chilled water. He smiled and order for two mince pies,burgers, juice and two glasses of water. I asked him why he ordered for juice despite ordering for water,he didn't reciprocate and just remained firm. Immediately we were served he cut the pie and put it in my mouth I ate it and drank the water half way I sipped from the juice and eventually finished the burger,my water and drank the juice halfway and I said I was filled up already he tenderly cleaned my mouth and tried to kiss me. I was reluctant."When will you grow up, You're too naive",he said. "Alot of people are looking"I said. I went to pay for the meals and he asked me if he could drop me off. I immediately agreed and waited for him to finish his meal.

We both sat at the back seat holding hand I had butterflies in my stomach. I had never been this close to any guy. He just dropped me off and left.

 ***Afterwards***

 I told Mary all about it and she was unhappy saying the date was boring and not romantic despite my dress. She told me that the payment of the meal was Christopher's part.

 I changed my dress and left.I went home and prepared dinner and tried to tidy up the house.

 In class I couldn't stop staring at him though it made him uncomfortable.

 At the cafeteria I just took a sandwich and a glass of water.

"Could I join you?"I heard a voice from behind. I turned and saw the speaker I smiled and said"Sure you can".

 He started at me making me uncomfortable."Christopher would You stop that"I asked."Stop what"He pretended not to know what he was doing."The way you're staring at me is weird"I said. He smiled and said"You started it staring at me in class"He said and winked. I just continued eating my sandwich when I was done I immediately drank the water.and waited for a while."Why do you always eat little and get filled?"Christopher asked me."Well I don't want to be one of those gluttons who end up with obesity"I said. He told me that eating to much doesn't cause obesity and he didn't mean eating too much.
