Chapter 7 Mother's Love and generous Gift

In the afternoon, Xiao Yunyang headed off to work, leaving Qin Zhen and Xiao Feng to enjoy some quality time together. During their conversation, Qin Zhen brought up her concerns, repeatedly confirming whether her son truly didn't need her help. After a while, she finally relented, her tone softening into a mix of worry and affection. "Feng'er," she said almost pleadingly, "since you've decided to start your own business, I'll respect your wishes. But you have to promise me—if you encounter any problems, no matter how big or small, you must tell me. Can you do that?"

Xiao Feng, feeling the warmth of his mother's love, nodded earnestly, a reassuring smile spreading across his face. He even patted his chest in a playful gesture and said, "Mom, don't worry. I promise, if anything happens, you'll be the first to know."

As evening fell and the family gathered for dinner, Xiao Feng shared a warm meal with his parents, enjoying the rare and comforting atmosphere of home. However, as the time came for him to leave, he noticed the hesitation in his mother's expression. Before she could say anything, he quickly stepped in to reassure her, saying, "Mom, I promise I'll visit you often. I won't let too much time pass between visits."

Qin Zhen knew better than to push too hard. She understood that too much eagerness might overwhelm her son, so she decided to let him go without argument. Standing at the doorway with Xiao Yunyang, she watched as Xiao Feng's McLaren Elva roared to life and slowly disappeared into the distance. Her heart was filled with a bittersweet mix of pride and longing.

After returning to the newly purchased manor, Xiao Feng began unpacking his belongings. The house was vast and luxurious, filled with all the hallmarks of wealth and taste, but it also felt strangely empty. As he wandered through its expansive halls, a subtle sense of loneliness began to creep in. Glancing at the clock, he realized it was only 8 p.m. With nothing urgent to do, he decided to head to the auto show, hoping to see Lin Yuyan.

Upon arriving at the Lamborghini booth, he was surprised to find that Lin Yuyan wasn't there. Feeling puzzled, he quickly walked to a quieter spot, pulled out his phone, and dialed her number.

"Hello, Yuyan," he began as soon as she answered. "Why aren't you at work today?"

On the other end of the call, Lin Yuyan, who had just returned home, sounded both upset and resigned. "Xiao Feng," she said with a sigh, "it's because of you. You bought the McLaren Elva yesterday, and now the manager says they don't need a car model at the booth anymore. They told me I don't have to come back."

Xiao Feng frowned deeply, feeling a pang of guilt at her words. "I didn't mean for this to happen. If I had known, I would have waited until the last day of the auto show to buy the car."

"It's not your fault," Lin Yuyan replied, her tone softening slightly. "Anyway, I was already planning to look for better opportunities in the capital. The studio I told you about last night offered me a contract, but their terms were way too harsh. I couldn't accept it."

"You still want to pursue your career here, right?" Xiao Feng asked thoughtfully, sensing the determination in her voice.

"Of course," Lin Yuyan replied, a hint of hope creeping into her tone. "But it's not easy to find someone willing to give me a real chance."

After a moment of contemplation, Xiao Feng said, "Send me your details—your resume, portfolio, whatever you have. I'll see if I can help you find a better opportunity. Who knows? Maybe your Bole will appear sooner than you think."

"Are you serious, Xiao Feng?" Lin Yuyan's voice was filled with both excitement and disbelief.

"Of course," he replied, a touch of humor in his tone. "Why would I lie to you? Send it over, and I'll see what I can do for you tomorrow."

"Alright, I'll send it to you right away!"

After ending the call, Xiao Feng returned to his manor. A short while later, his phone buzzed with a notification. Lin Yuyan had sent her resume along with some short video clips showcasing her talent and charm. As he watched the videos, a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"She's like a little deer," he thought to himself with amusement.

An idea slowly began to take shape in his mind, one that might help Lin Yuyan achieve her dreams.

---

The next morning, Xiao Feng was jolted awake by the sharp ringing of his phone. Groggily, he reached for it, squinting at the screen. Seeing his mother's name, he smiled helplessly and answered, "Good morning, Mom."

"Feng'er, are you up?" Qin Zhen's cheerful voice came through. "Last night, I went shopping and bought you a ton of essentials. I'll bring them over now."

"Mom, there's no need for that," Xiao Feng said, sitting up and stretching. "I'll come to you instead."

In less than fifteen minutes, after freshening up and getting dressed, Xiao Feng stepped into his Pagani Huayra Roadster BC. The engine roared to life, and he sped off toward his parents' house.

---

As soon as he arrived, Qin Zhen stood waiting outside with a beautiful, elegant woman beside her. Beaming with pride, she called out, "Feng'er, come here. Let me introduce you to your aunt, Xiao Yunyun."

"Aunt Yunyun," Xiao Feng greeted warmly, offering her a polite smile.

"My, Feng'er, you've grown into such a fine young man!" Xiao Yunyun said with a laugh. "You're so much better than that lazy Yao Li from my family!"

Embarrassed but amused, Xiao Feng scratched his head and grinned.

Qin Zhen quickly grabbed his hand and led him inside. "Come with me. I bought you some clothes and accessories. Let's see if they fit!"

She took him to a spacious bedroom filled with neatly arranged clothes, shoes, and even luxury watches from brands like Patek Philippe and Rolex. There were also the latest gadgets—smartphones, tablets, and laptops—from top brands like Apple and Huawei.

When Xiao Feng emerged wearing a perfectly tailored suit, Qin Zhen clapped her hands in delight. "My son looks like a prince!"

Smiling softly, Xiao Feng said, "Mom, you didn't buy all this last night, did you?"

Qin Zhen laughed lightly, avoiding his gaze. "Whether I bought it last night or prepared it earlier doesn't matter. What matters is that my son looks perfect!"

"You must know that it's impossible to get a customized set of clothing in just one or two days," Xiao Feng said with a touch of curiosity.

Qin Zhen smiled warmly, her eyes softening as she explained, "Although I hadn't officially recognized you before, I often went to see you from a distance. I already had a good idea of your height and body shape."

Pausing for a moment, she added with a playful laugh, "Besides, I used a silly method—ordering several sets in different sizes. That way, no matter what, there would always be something that fit you. After you left yesterday, I sorted through them to find the ones that suit you best."

"Mom…" Xiao Feng felt a deep surge of emotion. Though Qin Zhen spoke lightly, her words were filled with a strong sense of maternal love and care.

Qin Zhen reached out and adjusted his collar, smiling with satisfaction. "Alright, as long as you like them, that's all that matters." She paused briefly before adding, "By the way, Xiao Feng, I'll call later to order some more clothes for you. Oh, and since I know you like sports cars, I'm planning to gift you one."

Xiao Feng didn't know how to respond. With a wry smile, he simply nodded. "Alright, Mom. Thank you."

He then glanced at the time and remembered he had other plans. "Mom, Aunt Yunyun, I have something else to do today, so I'll leave first."

"Wait a moment," Xiao Yunyun called out, stopping him in his tracks. "Feng'er, since it's our first time meeting, your aunt doesn't have any extravagant gifts for you. But I did hear from your mother that you're planning to open a company. As it happens, I own an empty floor in the Silver Hope Building. I'll give it to you as a gift."

"Ah…" Xiao Feng froze, utterly stunned.

Silver Hope Building was the tallest and most prestigious office building in the entire capital. An entire floor of over 3,300 square meters—it was worth an astronomical sum. And yet, his aunt was offering it to him so casually.

At that moment, Xiao Feng couldn't help but feel that, even with the more than ten billion yuan in his account, he was still no match for the wealth and generosity of his mother and aunt.

"What's with the hesitation?" Xiao Yunxi said, chuckling. "It's settled then. Just contact the real estate agent and report my name."

Xiao Feng nodded mechanically, still processing the magnitude of her gift. Turning to his mother, he asked hesitantly, "Mom…"

Qin Zhen chuckled softly, patting his arm. "Don't overthink it. Your aunt's net worth is almost on par with mine. If she wants to gift it to you, just accept it graciously."

Taking a deep breath, Xiao Feng nodded and said sincerely, "Thank you, Aunt Yunyun."
