Chapter 10 Shopping at Galaxy mall

After lunch, the two got into the car. Seeing that Zhu Li hadn't mentioned where they were heading, Xiao Feng pondered briefly. Without a word, he started the McLaren Elva, the engine's growl echoing smoothly, and set course for the Galaxy Mall.

The luxurious sports car glided effortlessly down the road, its polished exterior gleaming under the midday sun. Inside the car, Zhu Li noticed the direction seemed off. Turning slightly to look at Xiao Feng, she asked, her voice carrying a note of suspicion, "Xiao Feng, where are we going?"

"I figured we just had a good meal, so we should take a walk to digest. What better place than the Galaxy Mall for a little shopping?" Xiao Feng replied casually, his tone lighthearted.

Zhu Li blinked at him before leaning back into her seat and gazing out the window, her doubts momentarily dispelled.

Suddenly, the hum of the car's smooth drive was interrupted by the vibration of Xiao Feng's phone. He glanced at the screen, saw that it was a call from his mother, and answered, switching it to speakerphone.

"Hey, Mom, what's up?" Xiao Feng asked, his tone relaxed as he maneuvered through light traffic.

"Feng'er, where are you? Have you had lunch yet?" came the warm voice of Qin Zhen.

"I just ate with a friend, and now we're heading to the Galaxy Mall," he replied, keeping his eyes on the road.

The mention of "Galaxy Mall" immediately captured Qin Zhen's attention. She didn't miss a beat and quickly connected the dots. After all, two boys wouldn't typically go shopping at a mall together. Her tone turned excited.

"Oh, you're with a girl, aren't you?" she asked knowingly. "Listen, son, when you're shopping with a girl, you need to be generous—just buy whatever she likes. Don't hold back. Our family isn't short of money, and I'll transfer 10 million yuan to you right now. Remember, Feng'er, always give her the best. Your father and I don't care about background or status; as long as you like her, we'll fully support you."

Before Xiao Feng could get a word in edgewise, Qin Zhen continued enthusiastically, making her intentions clear. She seemed determined to spoil her future daughter-in-law.

His phone buzzed again, this time with a notification from the bank. The account ending in 5188 had just received a transfer of 10 million yuan, bringing the balance to an astounding 8.06 billion yuan.

Zhu Li, sitting silently beside him, caught sight of the message on his phone. Her jaw dropped. Qin Zhen's generosity was beyond anything she could have imagined. A casual three words—buy, buy, buy—and such a staggering amount had been transferred. Her wide eyes stared at the long string of zeros in disbelief. She blinked, rubbed her eyes, and then counted the digits carefully.

When it finally sank in, her mouth hung open so wide that she could practically fit a whole duck egg in it.

"Mom, I already have enough money. You didn't have to send it so fast," Xiao Feng said, shaking his head in mild exasperation. He hadn't even had time to refuse before the transfer was made.

"This isn't for you, Feng'er. It's pocket money for your girlfriend," Qin Zhen corrected him firmly. "You can transfer it to her later."

Xiao Feng sighed, recognizing the persistence in his mother's tone. "Mom, you don't have to go overboard. What's yours is mine, and I appreciate it. But let's not rush things, okay?"

Qin Zhen scoffed lightly at his hesitance. "Feng'er, your dad and I only have you. If you weren't so resistant, I'd have transferred all the shares of Qin Group to your name already. As long as you're willing, there's nothing I wouldn't give you."

Xiao Feng knew her intentions. She wanted to make up for the years she hadn't been around during his childhood. "Mom, I understand. Let's discuss the company when I feel more capable. For now, I'll focus on my plans. I'll talk to you about it when I'm home tonight."

Zhu Li, still dazed, listened to the conversation, her mind spinning. Xiao Feng wasn't just wealthy—he was extraordinarily wealthy. Not only was his family's net worth estimated in trillions, but it also seemed like the Xiao family's assets were entirely private, with no shared ownership or shareholders. Everything belonged solely to his family.

Her thoughts were a whirlwind. Xiao Feng was the sole heir to such immense wealth, and she had been clueless until now. She barely noticed when they arrived at Galaxy Mall and parked the car in the underground lot.

"Zhu Li, we're here. Let's go," Xiao Feng's voice brought her back to reality. He reached over and gently pinched her cheek, grinning. "Come on, no need to be so stunned."

Zhu Li blinked, then scowled lightly. "Xiao Feng, I treated you as a friend, but you've been lying to me all this time."

"Lying? About what?" he asked, feigning ignorance as he got out of the car.

"You said you came from a modest background!" she accused, her hands on her hips. "And don't even get me started on that investment in Golden Film and Television—it was you, wasn't it? Three billion yuan!"

Xiao Feng smiled sheepishly. "Alright, maybe I left out a few details. But does it matter?"

Angry Zhu Li's delicate, thin lips curved upward slightly, resembling a ripe cherry that looked so tempting and adorable. Her cheeks were slightly flushed, adding to her charm despite her frustration. Xiao Feng couldn't help but smile as he glanced at her, his voice soft yet teasing.

"You look amazing when you smile, and somehow, you look just as good when you're angry. Honestly, how can someone be this beautiful no matter what?" Xiao Feng said, his tone filled with genuine admiration.

Zhu Li's pout deepened as she crossed her arms, her brows furrowed in indignation. "Hmph, sweet words are like sweet swords—they can cut deep," she muttered, her voice carrying a mix of annoyance and amusement.

"Alright, alright, my fault," Xiao Feng replied, laughing lightly. "I shouldn't have kept things from you. I'm sorry, okay?" His tone softened as he reached over and opened the car door for her, stepping out and walking to her side. "Come on, let's go. I'll make it up to you."

Before she could argue, Xiao Feng gently pulled her out of the McLaren Elva, the car's doors gracefully lifting into the air like wings. Taking her hand firmly, he started walking towards the entrance of Galaxy Mall.

"Let go of me! I can walk on my own," Zhu Li protested, trying to wriggle free from his grasp. Despite her attempts, she found herself unable to break free from his strong yet gentle hold.

Unbeknownst to the pair, Qin Zhen, who had been feeling restless and bored at home, had made a spontaneous decision to head to the Galaxy Mall herself. She had asked the chauffeur to prepare the Rolls-Royce extended luxury car and gathered a few bodyguards to accompany her. Sitting comfortably in the plush leather seat of the car, Qin Zhen's thoughts swirled with excitement. She had to see for herself the girl her son was spending time with.

Meanwhile, back at the mall, Zhu Li gave Xiao Feng a sharp look as he continued to lead her through the entrance.

"Xiao Feng, where exactly are you dragging me off to?" she asked impatiently, her tone laced with suspicion.

Xiao Feng glanced at her, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Since you overheard my conversation with my mom, you already know what she meant when she transferred the money," he said nonchalantly.

Zhu Li's eyes narrowed as she huffed in disbelief. "What, you mean to throw money around and 'buy, buy, buy,' as she said? You think that's going to solve everything?"

Xiao Feng simply chuckled, his grip on her hand unwavering as he guided her through the bustling mall, heading straight for a high-end store on the second floor. The shimmering chandeliers hanging from the mall's ceiling reflected in the polished glass storefronts, creating an atmosphere of opulence that matched the calm confidence in Xiao Feng's stride.

"Trust me," he said, his tone soft but firm. "You'll see what I mean soon enough."

They arrived at a Chanel boutique, its elegant displays showcasing the latest in luxury fashion. A polished sales associate greeted them warmly, her practiced smile widening when she noticed Xiao Feng's tailored attire and confident demeanor. Her gaze briefly flickered to Zhu Li, noting her casual outfit, but quickly returned to Xiao Feng, sensing he was someone who wouldn't hesitate to spend.

"Good afternoon, sir and madam. Welcome to Chanel. How may I assist you today?" the saleswoman asked with a respectful nod.

"Zhu Li," Xiao Feng said, turning to her with a mischievous grin, "do you want to pick something yourself, or should I do it for you?"

Zhu Li crossed her arms, still fuming, but before she could respond, Xiao Feng addressed the sales associate directly. "From head to toe—outfit, bag, shoes, accessories—prepare two sets for her," he said smoothly.

The saleswoman's eyes lit up with excitement as she nodded eagerly. "Of course, sir. I'll prepare the finest selections right away."

"No, I'll choose for myself," Zhu Li interrupted, stepping forward and giving Xiao Feng a pointed look. "Since you're so insistent on spending money, I might as well help you do it properly."

Xiao Feng leaned back slightly, smiling in amusement as he gestured for her to proceed.

Half an hour later, Zhu Li emerged from the dressing room, wearing a stunning, well-tailored white dress. The clean, smooth lines of the fabric highlighted her elegant figure, while the layered design of the skirt added a sense of sophistication. Paired with a Chanel handbag that complemented the outfit's soft tones and delicate shoulder-length hair, she radiated an air of effortless grace.

Xiao Feng, leaning casually against a display case, froze for a moment when he saw her. His lips curled into a satisfied smile as he admired her transformation. "Beautiful," he said, his voice low and sincere. "Absolutely stunning. Now, let's pick another one."

"No way!" Zhu Li exclaimed, waving her hands in protest. "This is enough!"

She had discreetly asked the sales associate earlier about the price of the ensemble and nearly fainted when she learned it cost 400,000 yuan. Even though she now knew Xiao Feng had immense wealth, she couldn't fathom spending so much on a single outfit.

Xiao Feng chuckled at her reaction but didn't push further. "Alright, let's head to the next store then," he said, casually handing his bank card to the sales associate to finalize the purchase.

As they left the boutique, Zhu Li glanced at him with mixed emotions. Despite her initial frustration, there was a warmth in Xiao Feng's actions that she couldn't quite dismiss.
