0.0: New Assignment

"Gosh! Not again," Taeyun groaned, taking a sip of his hot black coffee. Ever since he started working at Closmox Enterprises, it had been nothing but chaos.

Not from his department—the 'Villain Department'—but from the 'Yandere Department'.

Closmox Enterprises was a high-tech company responsible for managing fictional novel worlds, otome worlds, gaming worlds, and VR worlds. It ensured that none of these worlds collapsed by deploying trained agents into them. Each agent was assigned a guiding system to aid them in their missions.

Taeyun was one such agent, specializing in "villain roles". His job was to play antagonists in different stories, disrupting main characters' relationships and plans. From misunderstood villains to outright evil masterminds, he had played them all—and was paid handsomely for it. His job was, for the most part, predictable and smooth.

Except for one thing.

"Fucking hell! I can't take it anymore!"

Taeyun's best friend, Glenn, stormed into the lounge and collapsed onto the sofa beside him, looking utterly drained. The dark circles under his eyes had grown so deep, they could pass for war scars.

"You good, bro?" Taeyun asked, sliding him a cup of espresso he had bought earlier.

"Does it 'look' like I'm good? I'm 'exasperated'! I can't do this anymore," Glenn groaned, rubbing his temples. "The agents in my department are useless! The worlds keep collapsing, and it's getting harder and harder to manage them. And to make things worse, there's some 'damn bug' in the system making the yanderes even more twisted than before. It's literally impossible to contain them!"

Taeyun took another sip of his coffee, calmly listening. Glenn worked in the technical team of the Yandere Department, the most notorious and chaotic division in the company. Agents resigned daily. Transfers were frequent. It was practically a death sentence for anyone assigned there.

"Maybe you should train your agents better," Taeyun suggested. "The ones you have clearly lack mental resilience."

Glenn shot him a side-eye. "Easy for 'you' to say."

"I mean, how bad can it be?" Taeyun shrugged. "I've played some seriously messed-up villains. I doubt yanderes are worse than them."

Glenn set his espresso down and gave him a look.

"Bro… you haven't faced a yandere yet." His voice dropped a notch. "If you had, you'd be pissing yourself."

Taeyun snorted. "You're being dramatic."

"I'm being honest," Glenn corrected. "Villains have goals , Taeyun. They want power, revenge, money. Their actions are predictable. But a yandere?" He leaned in slightly, his voice barely above a whisper. "They don't need a reason. Their obsession is the reason. And that makes them far, far worse and unpredictable."

A slight chill crawled up Taeyun's spine, but he masked it with another scoff. "What can some overly attached person do that a full-fledged villain can't?"

Glenn smirked.

"You'll see."

Something about the way he said it unsettled Taeyun. A sinking feeling settled in his stomach.

Why did it feel like something bad was about to happen?— Taeyun thought to himself feeling uneasy.

A Few Hours Later…

Taeyun now understood the meaning behind Glenn's smirk.

Among the recommended transfers to the Yandere Department, Glenn had added his name.

And now… he was an official agent of the Yandere Department.

He glared at his so-called friend with pure betrayal. "You did this on purpose."

Glenn only grinned, completely unfazed. "Told you yanderes were worse than villains. Now you'll get firsthand experience."

"This isn't funny!" Taeyun snapped, gripping the transfer papers so tightly they crumpled in his hands. "Do you have any idea what happens to the agents in this department?! Half of them quit. The other half end up—" He stopped, unwilling to voice the worst possibilities.

Glenn simply shrugged. "Look on the bright side. You'll either prove me wrong… or learn just how terrifying an obsessed person can be."

Before Taeyun could strangle him, the Yandere Department chief, Mrs. Bell, entered the room.

"Welcome to the team, Yu Taeyun," she said, her tone strict but her eyes pleading. "From now on, you'll be assigned to the Yandere Department. I hope you can find the bug and… not quit."

Taeyun hesitated. "I'll… try."

Mrs. Bell gave a firm nod before introducing him to his guiding system.

"This is **System 829**—your guide for yandere missions. And, Taeyun… please don't quit. I'll pay you double of what you were making before."

The desperation in her voice made Taeyun's stomach drop.

A bad feeling crept into his chest.

[ System 829: Hello, new agent. Please complete the binding process to proceed. To initiate, please assign a name to System 829. ]

Taeyun exhaled. "Uh… Pluto?"

[ **Binding process complete.** ]

[ System Pluto: Hello, Host. System Pluto is at your service. Are you ready for your first Yandere mission? ]

Taeyun sighed. "I guess."

[ System Pluto:Before we begin, here's a quick overview. Each world starts with 100 points. Successfully completing the mission earns points. Failing will result in a deduction of 500 points from your bank. If your points hit zero … you will die. ]

Taeyun: **!!!**

Taeyun: **WTF?! 500 POINTS?!**

His soul nearly left his body.

After years of working in the Villain Department, he had saved up 15,987 points—a lifeline that covered his health insurance. And now, just one failure could drain his savings instantly.

Before he could protest, Pluto continued

[ System Pluto: Now initiating world transmigration in 3… 2… 1… ]

Taeyun barely had time to curse before his **body disintegrated** into light.

Mrs. Bell watched his figure disappear and clasped her hands together.

"You're the only one who can save us, Taeyun… All the best."
