Chapter 31
To celebrate the new phase of their lives and the purchase of the house, Scarlett and Scott decide to organize an intimate barbecue, inviting both families to celebrate.
The idea is to bring together the people most important to them in a relaxed and happy environment, symbolizing the union of the two families and the new life they are starting together.
The weather in Los Angeles is perfect for an outdoor barbecue, with the sun shining and a light breeze blowing. Scarlett and Scott spend the morning enthusiastically preparing everything.
Scott, being practical and detail-oriented, organizes the barbecue and makes sure there is enough meat for everyone, as well as a few special dishes. Scarlett, in turn, takes care of the decorations and organizes the space around the pool, ensuring there is a comfortable and welcoming environment for the guests.
"Are you sure you want to take care of all the meat?" Scarlett asks, smiling as she watches Scott adjust the barbecue.
"Absolutely," he answers, laughing. "Trust me, after years of training in the field, I know how to handle this."
Soon, the first guests begin to arrive. The Kardashian-Jenner family shows up in force, with Kris leading the group and, of course, bringing something special to the celebration. Kendall, Kylie, Kourtney, Kim and Khloe enter with laughter and hugs, already excited to see how their brother and Scarlett are doing in the new house.
Soon after, Scarlett's parents and brother arrive, bringing Rose with them, who runs straight to Scott, hugging him happily.
"Uncle Scott, are you going to make burgers?" Rose asks, looking at the grill with her eyes shining.
"Of course I will! And you're going to be my special helper," Scott replies, winking at Scarlett while Rose stands by his side to help.
As Scott tends the grill, conversation flows among the guests. Kris compliments the house and talks about how happy she is to see Scott find someone as special as Scarlett.
"You two really complement each other," she says, smiling at the actress. "And I'm already planning all the parties we can have here."
Kylie, always on the ball, also wastes no time commenting on the decor and space of the new home, while Kendall and Kim chat with Scarlett about how happy Rose seems to be with Scott. For Scarlett, it's a touching moment to see how her daughter and Scott have created such a strong connection.
"He's amazing with kids," Kim comments. "Rose is always so comfortable around him."
As the barbecue continues, the atmosphere becomes lighter and more relaxed. Scott, ever the attentive host, circulates among the guests, checking to see if everyone is enjoying the food and feeling comfortable. At one point, Kris, with her sharp sense of humor, jokes:
"Scott, you must be the most prepared man for any situation I've ever met. I don't think we'll ever go hungry at one of your barbecues."
He laughs and replies: "Well, if you guys need someone to manage rationing in extreme situations, just call me."
As the day draws to a close, Scarlett and Scott feel a sense of fulfillment in seeing their families so close and happy. The kids play by the pool, while the adults relax with drinks and desserts, enjoying each other's company.
The party becomes more than just a celebration of a new house, it's a celebration of the union of two families and the love that is blossoming between Scott and Scarlett. Later, as the sun begins to set and the barbecue draws to a close, Scarlett looks at Scott and smiles.
"Today was perfect," she says softly.
"Yes," Scott agrees, putting his arm around her. "Our life together is starting off right."
And as the families begin to say their goodbyes, Kris makes sure to remind everyone that this is just the first of many celebrations to come. For Scott and Scarlett, this barbecue marks a new beginning, one filled with love, support, and hope for the future.
The media, of course, is quick to capture the moment, speculating even more about the couple's future and how this new phase could bring even more surprises, but for Scarlett and Scott, what matters is the present they are building, together with their families and loved ones.
Chapter 32
Scott receives an unexpected call on a normal day. He answers the phone and, to his surprise, on the other end of the line is Tyler Grey, an old acquaintance from his special operations days.
Tyler, who in addition to being an Army veteran, now works as an actor and technical consultant on the hit series Seal Team, invites him to participate in the final season of the show.
The connection between them is deep, as Tyler served under Scott's command on several missions, creating a bond of respect and trust.
"Scott, you have to come work with us," Tyler says excitedly. "We're in the final season, and it would be an honor to have you behind the scenes, sharing your experience and maybe even appearing in a few scenes."
Scott hesitates for a moment. He had never imagined himself in front of the camera, but the idea of helping to accurately portray special operations and contribute to the authenticity of the series intrigues him.
In addition, another familiar name comes up in the conversation: Mark Owen, the pseudonym of Matt Bissonette, who also worked at DEVGRU and performed operations alongside Scott.
"I know you're not much of a media person, but you know Mark," Tyler continues. "He's been a consultant before, and with your experience, it would be great to have you on the team."
After some consideration, Scott decides to accept the offer. He sees it as a unique opportunity to show the reality of special forces in a truthful and respectful way. In addition, the idea of reuniting Tyler and Mark in a different environment, but with the same spirit of camaraderie, excites him.
A few days later, Scott arrives on the set of the series. The atmosphere is one of excitement and anticipation, as many on set know of his legendary reputation. He is warmly welcomed by Tyler, who introduces him to the cast and crew. Between handshakes and greetings, the respect that everyone shows him is palpable.
"It's an honor to have you here, Scott," says the series director, as he explains to him how his technical and tactical contributions will elevate the season's level of authenticity.
During filming, Scott works behind the scenes, coaching the actors on combat tactics, mission behavior, and the minute details that only someone with his experience could provide.
He also reunites with Mark Owen, who is there to help with the special operations scenes, and together they revisit some of the memories they shared on the battlefield.
"Seems like life brought us together again, huh?" says Mark, with a respectful smile.
"Yeah, only this time, not life-threatening," Scott replies, laughing.
Over the weeks, Scott adapts to his new environment. He and Tyler swap stories of the old days between takes, and the Seal Team crew is impressed by the level of detail Scott brings to the set.
From the way the operators move in combat to the way they interact in high-pressure situations, everything comes to reflect the military precision for which Scott is known.
Finally, the series' production team proposes something unusual: that Scott make a guest appearance in an episode. Tyler, aware of Scott's low profile, approaches the idea cautiously, but to his surprise, Scott accepts.
"I never imagined myself as an actor, but if it helps tell the story in a more authentic way, I'm in," Scott says, surprising everyone.
When filming finally comes to an end, Scott feels a mixture of pride and nostalgia. He knows that he has contributed to something significant and that his experience, once again, has made a difference.
The media, of course, quickly picks up on his participation in the series, and rumors and speculation soon arise about how a former Delta Force and DEVGRU commander brought realism to television.
For Scott, however, the experience was about more than just appearing on screen. It was about reconnecting with old friends, sharing his knowledge and, in a way, rekindling the bonds of brotherhood that marked his life in the special forces.
With the season over and the Seal Team series over, Scott returns home feeling more fulfilled than ever. He now has a new story to tell, this time not of real battles, but of how he helped portray the silent heroes who serve in the shadows.
Chapter 33
Scott is sitting at the table with Scarlett, Rose and her family, as well as the Kardashian Jenner sisters and Kris, during a relaxed lunch. The conversations are lively, but at one point, Kris notices that Scott seems to be holding back on some news and decides to bring up the subject.
"Scott, you've been very quiet today. Anything interesting happening?" Kris asks, raising an eyebrow, already accustomed to big revelations from her family.
Scott gives a slight smile, looking at Scarlett, who encourages him with a look. He clears his throat before starting to speak.
"Actually, I have some news... but it's nothing that big," he says, downplaying it, but already seeing the curious expressions of everyone at the table. "I've been invited to participate in an episode of the series Seal Team."
The table immediately goes silent for a second, before a flood of reactions explodes at the same time.
"What?!" Kendall is the first to react, surprised. "Really? You're going to act?"
"Well, acting isn't really my thing," Scott laughs. "But Tyler Grey, who works on the show and is a friend of mine from the ops days, asked me to help out behind the scenes as a consultant. He and Matt Owen, who you know as Mark Bissonette, convinced me to be in one of the episodes. It's going to be quick, but realistic."
Scott's sisters are in awe. They knew he had an impressive military career, but the idea of seeing him on TV, in such an acclaimed series, was something they never would have imagined.
"That's amazing!" Kourtney says, while Khloé adds, laughing, "Man, are you going to be a star now? You're going to have to learn how to pose for the paparazzi like us!"
"No, no, no. That was just a friendly invitation. They wanted someone with real experience to make the episode more authentic," Scott tries to explain. "I'm more there to make sure things are done right. Plus, it's the last season. It was kind of a goodbye between longtime colleagues."
Kris, always thinking about the impact this could have, leans forward, interested. "You mean Tyler Grey and Mark Owen, right? They're legends in the business. This is going to be big, Scott," she says, amazed at the influence her son has even outside of the mainstream media.
"Exactly," Scarlett chimes in, smiling at Scott. "He explained everything to me and I was impressed too. Tyler and Matt thought he would be perfect for the show, and honestly, he's going to kill it."
Kendall, who was still trying to wrap her head around the idea of her brother on a big-time show, says, "I watch Seal Team, you know? I can't believe I'm going to see you on TV... This is surreal!"
Scott, a little uncomfortable with all the attention, laughs and shakes his head. "I'm just a small part of this. The guys on the show do an incredible job on their own. I only accepted because they convinced me it would be something fun and, of course, an opportunity to reunite with old friends."
Khloé, always witty, jokes: "So, do you have your Hollywood contract signed yet or are you still negotiating?"
Everyone laughs, and even Scott joins in on the joke. "No way. I'll just do this little cameo and that's it. Back to the quiet life." B
ut the excitement doesn't stop there. Scarlett's family, who are also present, react with admiration. Scarlett's brother, Hunter Johansson, who has an interest in action films, asks curiously.
"Did you know these guys from the days of operations? What made you agree to participate now?"
"Yes, I've known Tyler and Matt for years," Scott replies. "We've been on so many missions together. The idea to be on the show came about because they wanted to represent special operations in a more authentic way. And to be honest, it was also a chance to spend time with them again, in a more relaxed environment."
Scarlett holds Scott's hand and smiles proudly. She had already told a few friends about Scott's participation in the show, but seeing him share it with his family was something special.
"I'm so proud of you," she says, looking him in the eye. "I know you always prefer to stay out of the spotlight, but this is an incredible opportunity for people to see a little bit of what you've done for so many years."
Kim, who had been listening intently until then, adds: "You've always been discreet about your work, Scott. It's going to be good for the world to see how incredible you really are."
At the end of lunch, the excitement is still palpable. Everyone talks about how they're going to watch the episode as soon as it comes out and how important it is for Scott to have the opportunity to show, even if only for a brief moment, part of the world he lived in.
For the Kardashian Jenner family and Scarlett's family, this moment is yet another celebration of the man Scott is: someone who is humble, but who has left a profound mark both in his military career and in his personal relationships.
When the subject finally changes, Scott breathes a sigh of relief, but knowing that this experience in the series will be an important chapter in your life.
