Suddenly, Gena appeared—Ellie's god-sister. With a single wave of her hand, she effortlessly banished the monstrous creature. It was nothing more than an inconvenience to her divine power. In the blink of an eye, Gena teleported Ellie, Angel, and Justin back to Ellie's house.
Angel collapsed onto the floor, sobbing uncontrollably for Adam. Meanwhile, Ellie lay on her bed, motionless. The poison from the creature's spikes had spread through her veins, paralyzing her entire body. She couldn't move, couldn't speak—only breathe, blink, and feel the dull ache of loss that filled her chest. Adam was gone.
Poor guy… she thought bitterly.
Gena stood over Ellie, her expression unreadable as she examined her wounds. The deep, jagged gashes on her back pulsed with a sickly glow. She was lying on her stomach, bare-backed, the injuries exposed.
"That's… a lot," Gena muttered under her breath.
"Can you heal her?" Justin asked desperately.
Gena shook her head. "We're sisters. We're immune to each other's powers."
Justin's hands clenched into fists. "So there's no way to save her?"
"There is," Gena said, "but it's impossible."
"Impossible? Ella is dying and you're telling me it's impossible?" His voice rose with frustration.
Gena arched a brow. "Why do you care about her so much, anyway?"
Justin's jaw tightened. "Because I love her."
Gena smirked. "And how can we be sure of that?"
"Tell me how to save Ella," Justin said firmly, "and I'll prove it to you."
Gena's eyes gleamed with intrigue. "Is that a challenge?"
"Take it however you want," he shot back.
She exhaled before speaking. "Ellie is a half-god, half-demon, and half-human. To counteract the poison, you need three sacred flowers—one for each side of her existence. A demon flower, which is black. A god flower, which is white. And a human flower, a simple sunflower."
Justin nodded. "And where do I find them?"
"The Mysterious Island."
His brows furrowed. "How do I get there?"
"You don't," Gena said flatly. "It has no entry. That's why it's called mysterious. It doesn't exist in the human eye."
Justin took a step closer. "So what's the solution?"
Gena sighed, then raised her hand, summoning a swirling portal in the center of the room. The air crackled with energy.
"This is your entry." She reached into her robe and pulled out a medium-sized, glowing blue orb. "Take this."
Justin took the orb, turning it over in his palm.
"When you've collected all three flowers, shatter this on the ground," Gena instructed. "It will bring you back here."
She then looked down at Ellie, her expression softening. Hang in there, sis, her eyes seemed to say. Then she turned back to Justin, her voice dropping to a grave tone.
"Remember this: the Mysterious Island is the land of no return."
Justin stared at the swirling vortex, took a deep breath, and without hesitation, stepped inside.
