Chapter 3.5: Last battle

The uneasy alliance between Mark’s group and the bandits trudged toward the hive. The towering structure loomed ahead, pulsating with a bioluminescent glow that bathed the surrounding area in an eerie light. The titan mecha walked alongside them, its every step causing tremors that echoed across the desolate Martian terrain.

Mark, walking at the head of the group, tightened his grip on his weapon and turned to address everyone.

Mark: “Listen up. Whatever grudges we’ve got against each other, leave them behind. Once we step closer to that hive, the bugs will come at us with everything they’ve got. If we fight together, we stand a chance. If we don’t, we’re dead.”

Kain, still nursing the wound in his shoulder, sneered but said nothing. Rhea, the young bandit who had shown hesitation earlier, nodded silently. The survivors, still shaken, followed Mark’s lead with grim determination.

Sophie walked alongside Jonathan, who was adjusting the straps on his massive hammer.
