"John….john!"
"Hmm…?"
John's eyes reopened and he found himself under a familliar ceiling. The healer's office he knew all too well, except this time he wasn't there covered with blood.
"You're finally up, it took six potions to get your mind right," The academy healer, jean smiled as she helped him up.
Their relationship was on the level of close friendship after the first dozen times he arrived in her office, so there wasn't any need to lie.
Jean D'amoss, 20 year old master healer, interning at the academy for experience and money to support her large extended family…she seems nice, definitely not just her beauty…
The green hair and eyes, and petite body drew John's eyes, but he knew to act right and gathered himself
"John! You didn't answer me?"
I can't say I was zoned out..
"I'm still not focused, what were you saying?"
"I asked if it was Macer again,"
"We had a fight in class, I never expected him to cheat and use his powers,"
"That rich prick! I swear if he does it again i'll tell my brother to beat him up for you!"
Seeing how mad she was in his stead, John felt a foreign warmth enter his heart.
…
After chatting for a long time, Jean's words snapped John back to reality.
"Anyways, how did your awakening go?"
"Awakening? Right! I have to go!"
Jumping up out of bed, John found out at the last second that he was completely naked.
"I-I.." He didn't know what to say as his body was laid bare.
"…"
Jean's eyes wandered for an instant and then she turned around while John scurried to get dressed.
"Later, Jean!"
"Later!"
Once John was gone, an aura of light floated in the room, no one ither than Jean could ever see its true form.
"His body was always like that?" The light asked.
"I'm not sure, wasn't he short..?"
…
Running through the hallways, it didn't take long for John to get to the awakening room.
Nyx! How do I make sure I get a good power?
[With the system's influence and the host's omnifarious body, a high rank power is guaranteed.]
Let's do this then!
Pushing the door open, a white temple was revealed. Sleek and not flashy at all. The priest inside frowned upon seeing John.
"My son, it's too risky…"
"One last time, I have to try," John replied.
The awakening elixir wasn't well researched in terms of repeated use on non-awakeners, after the first time it didn't affect awakeners at all, so no precedents really existed.
"*Sigh* come forward."
John walked up to the small altar and gulped down the elixir in the chalice.
[The host has consumed [???? Awakening Elixir].]
[Awakening process has started…..]
In an instant, John passed out.
….
Hearing the wails of a baby, John's eyes snapped open, and he wailed around trying to force his body to listen to him.
What's going on?!
(Narration will change to a different pov for a chapter or two.)
Looking to his side he spotted a baby boy with golden eyes- Leave this to me, child.
As it is my story, it's only right that I tell it.
Translyvania, 1602, I was born to House Dracul as a twin to my brother Alucard.
The story goes that our father made sacrifices to the god of man to receive blessings for his children, sacrifices no deity could refuse. In return the blessings arrived, Alucard was born with the aura of an angel, golden eyes and holy energy flowing through his veins, everything my father wanted.
I on the other hand received…something else, hair as white as black as snow and eyes as red as blood, what flowed through me was far from holy. The doctors and priests knew I was different, my skin pale, sensitive to silver and the sun, harmed by the idol of protection, their god's cross.
Still, I was a son of house dracula and my father treated me as such, raising me and Alucard as honorable warriors, he accepted me for what I was, not what I was meant to become.
I'm living through a different person's life…like a 1st person movie..??
Thirty winters passed, and after burying our parents, Alucard and I grew closer as the twin-lords of the House. Renowned in all of the lands for the prosperity and protection we brought the lands under us, though most argued it was the blessing within Alucard that did the good, while every bad thing was placed upon my shoulders.
Still, I had my brother, so I didn't care. The lands were prosperous, the wars few, and the gods silent, until one day, Lenora, Alucard's beloved was found dead in a dark alley.
Her head half bitten off by some sort of inhuman monster, and their young child taken. That day, for the first time in all of the years, I saw Alucard shed tears, the man who smiled at all the funurals he attended, even our parents', assured by his god the heaven they would find in the after life.
He looked me in the eyes and said his god never took their souls, I understood the meaning in his words. A whisper passed my ear, but I couldn't tell him. A month later, after learning all ther was to learn of the monsters and myths, he armed himself and prepared to leave.
'I'll hunt every single monster on this earth If I have to. I'll find my son, no matter what.', he hugged me and left.
I heard stories about him for a while, a legendary monster hunter, the man who took back the night for humanity's sake.
A hundred winters later, I was as young as ever, reading a book in the castle when I felt something flow into my body. Half of my soul had found its was back to me. The same half that left to hunt the monsters of the night. The world mourned for a day or two, his family would mourn for a month, Transylvania would mourn for a year, I would mourn for eternity.
