Unusual pair

"Let the party begin!" Mrs. Fengli waved her hand to signal the waiters and gestured for the orchestra to start, dispelling the awkward atmosphere around their group.

The guests began to mingle. Some started waltzing on the dance floor, others roamed about, engaging in casual conversations, while a few remained in place, drinks in hand.

Churong let out a light sigh of relief. Should I impose a sex ban? He discreetly glanced at Chen Yi as he seriously contemplated the question.

Chen Yi somehow sensed an impending doom and instinctively became more docile in front of Churong, which earned raised eyebrows from his relatives and surprised gasps from those who had met him before.

Churong decided to postpone making a decision on the matter and began scanning the room for potential candidates. His sharp eyes took in the guests' gazes and overall appearances, silently rating them in his mind.

The Fengli couple wants the best. I mustn't disappoint them.

The candidates being scrutinized shuddered under the sharp gaze that seemed to pierce through them.

"Is that the famous matchmaker?"

"She's younger than I expected."

"Her gaze is a bit... scary."

"She's checking the candidates."

"Is she really a matchmaker?"

These were the various whispers that fell on Churong's deaf ears. He was so absorbed in his work that he began walking around, leaving a sulking Chen Yi to his smirking cousin.

Tian nudged Chen Yi's abdomen with his elbow. "You owe me an explanation, bud. Don't forget who helped you."

Chen Yi hesitated, pulling his gaze away from Churong and glancing at his cousin. Knowing that without Tian's help, he might have been stuck in an endless loop, he reluctantly told his cousin everything.

EVERYTHING.

By the end, Tian was left dumbfounded, mouth agape.

Churong had no idea that his "activities" with Chen Yi had been so carelessly revealed to Tian. If he had known, he probably would have literally dug a hole to hide in.

Churong's eyes kept darting from one candidate to the next as he searched for the top potential bachelorette chosen by the Fengli family and himself. He turned to face the orchestra and, by chance, locked eyes with his target. He smiled brightly.

The top candidate was a woman in her twenties named Xue Chu. She had a bob cut, hazel hair, and striking black eyes that gave her an elegant yet youthful appearance, blending both grace and charm.

When Xue Chu noticed Churong heading her way, her eyes sparked with interest. This was in stark contrast to the other candidates, whose gazes were filled with greed, clearly eager to latch onto the "golden thigh" that was Tian.

With just that one look, Churong's evaluation of Xue Chu jumped to over ninety percent, a glaring difference compared to the candidates who were stuck in the seventies and sixties.

"Miss Xue Chu, good evening." Churong extended his hand to shake, and Xue Chu immediately grasped it, marveling at its smoothness.

"Miss Churong, we finally met!" Her enthusiasm was almost blinding. "Aaaah, I'd go straight if it was you." She held her blushing face with both hands, staring at Churong.

Hmm? Churong tilted his head, momentarily blanking out. What? For some reason, he couldn't quite grasp the meaning of her words. She'd go straight if it was me? Then it clicked. Straight?! His eyes widened as he stared at the bubbly woman in front of him.

Her careless statement had revealed two things. One, Xue Chu knew he was a guy. Two, Xue Chu was not straight. Aah, the top candidate is a lesbian! Churong silently groaned in his mind. He was no longer concerned about his identity being exposed—his first priority was making the Fengli couple happy. But now, he had discovered that their top candidate was actually a lesbian.

"Xue Chu, calm down." A deep, masculine voice suddenly echoed beside Churong. Startled, he glanced at the owner of the voice. Woah, this guy's like a king-type gong! His interest sparked as he watched a tall, lean man smile mischievously at him. But Chen Yi is still the best, Churong mentally chastised himself as his thoughts suddenly veered off course.

"Yo, aren't you tired in that dress?" The man's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Or is it your hobby?"

Churong didn't answer, instead continuing to observe him quietly.

"This is my cousin, Syaoran. He's here as my escort," Xue Chu chimed in, patting Syaoran's broad shoulders.

Syaoran furrowed his brow, clearly displeased. "Stop calling me that," he sighed.

Churong grinned teasingly. What a name for a man like him.

"Right! Do you need something from me, Miss Churong?" Xue Chu turned to him, eyes filled with high hopes. Churong wasn't sure what exactly she was hoping for.

Churong's smile became awkward. "To tell you the truth, Miss Xue Chu, you're our top candidate for Tian." He placed his right hand on his cheek in embarrassment while his left arm supported it.

"Ehh~? Why me~?" Xue Chu pouted the last two words. After a split second, she suddenly turned back, grinning at him. "I'm more interested in you. As I said earlier, I wouldn't mind going straight if it was you." She winked playfully.

Churong was left speechless at her straightforwardness. Too bad she was a lesbian—she would have been the perfect candidate. Syaoran's cough broke his thoughts, and he noticed the glint in the other man's eyes.

"That client of yours. Is he rigid? Or malleable?" Syaoran's face remained indifferent despite his words, but his red ears betrayed him.

Churong's eyes sparkled. If Syaoran had been speaking to someone with an innocent mindset, they might not have understood his underlying meaning. But for Churong, this was the solution to his problem. Isn't there another perfect candidate standing right in front of me?

Churong slyly smiled and narrowed his eyes. "Not if I can't help it. He will curve."
