Chapter 14;Rainy reflections

Tehila stepped out of the cozy "Sweet Delights" bakery, Mylo trotting faithfully by her side. The aroma of freshly baked pastries and snacks wafted out with her, mingling with the scent of rain in the air. She had decided to take a walk with Mylo, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, but the rain had other plans.

At first, it was just a gentle drizzle, but soon the rain intensified, washing down Tehila and Mylo. They sought refuge under a nearby awning, but it offered little protection from the downpour. Spotting a bench nearby, Tehila quickly made a dash for it, Mylo following closely behind.

As they sat down, Tehila couldn't help but think about her situation. It had been a year since she married Lucien, and he had yet to get back to her. The pain and disappointment she had been carrying around for months finally boiled over, and she began to cry.

Mylo, sensing her distress, nuzzled her hand, whining softly. Tehila stroked his fur, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her. She thought about calling Lucien the next morning, but her pride got the better of her.

"I'm not going to beg for it," she whispered to herself, determination etched on her face. "I'm not going to wait around for him anymore. I deserve better than that."

As the rain continued to fall around her, Tehila made a decision. She would call Lucien the next morning, but it wouldn't be to beg for his attention or to plead for their marriage to work. It would be to tell him that she was done waiting, done being patient. She would tell him that she deserved better, and that she was moving on with her life.

(LUCIEN POV)

Lucien Phoenix, stepped out of his private plane, his secretary, Ryan, and personal bodyguard, Viktor, following closely behind. Two additional bodyguards, Marcus and Leo, flanked them, their eyes scanning the surrounding area.

The rain poured down around them, drumming against the pavement. Ryan quickly pulled out an umbrella, holding it over Lucien's head as they made their way to the waiting car.

"I wasn't supposed to run into rain," Lucien muttered to Ryan.

Ryan smiled wryly. "Sorry, sir. The forecast didn't mention anything about rain."

Lucien's gaze turned cold. "I pay you to be prepared, Ryan."

Ryan's expression turned neutral. "Yes, sir."

They reached the car, a sleek, black Rolls Royce Phantom, and Lucien slid into the backseat, Ryan following behind. Viktor took his place in the front seat, while Marcus and Leo stood guard outside, their eyes scanning the surrounding area.

As the car pulled away from the airport, Lucien turned to Ryan. "Remind me to call Tehila in the morning."

Ryan nodded, his eyes flicking to Lucien's face. "Yes, sir. It's Saturday tomorrow, isn't it?"

Lucien nodded. "It is. And I want to make sure I call her first thing."

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "If I may ask, sir, what's the plan with Tehila?"

Lucien's gaze turned inward, his mind wandering to Tehila. "I'm not sure yet, Ryan. But I'm curious to see how she'll react to my call."

Ryan's expression turned thoughtful. "You've never shown much interest in women before, sir. What's different about Tehila?"

Lucien's eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure, Ryan. Maybe it's just curiosity. But I want to see how she'll react, how she'll play her cards."

Ryan nodded, his eyes returning to his phone. "I'll make sure to remind you to call her tomorrow, sir."

As the car sped through the rainy streets, Lucien's eyes remained fixed on some point outside the window, his mind consumed by thoughts of Tehila.
