the real trouble begins

The night passed like another sigh for Kaius that was the problem with sleep for him he could never just sleep for a couple of hours it was always a whole night or even like that day until late afternoon the daylight started to hit Kaius' eyes making him move his body making black also start to wake up.

- black, what happened last night," he said sleepily, still with the drug in his system. 

black knew he didn't mean the attack, he remembered everything.

- I guess I don't have to tell you to turn to your left side," he said sleepily.

kaius did so and was surprised to find james standing in the doorway with a tray of eggs and fresh fruit as well as a glass of what smelled like blood, but it was animal blood. kaius wasn't really a fan of that blood, but it would do him some good to revitalize himself a little.

james walked over to the bed where kaius was resting and brought the tray of food over to the bed so he wouldn't have to get up. 

- How are you feeling, Kai," he asked, placing the tray on his lap so he could eat.

- James, I think it's good to be calm, it's not the first time I've been attacked," he said trying to calm him down, although the truth was, at least for that version of him, but something told him that for having lived so many years, it wasn't possible that he hadn't been attacked before. 

james did not relax 

- eat something you lost a lot of blood and you had too much bleeding in your body I brought you some blood - he said worriedly and in a protective way

kaius wanted to avoid drinking animal blood but at that point he couldn't, it was impossible for him to move and black also needed the necessary nutrients to keep his magic stable so this time he put aside everything he disliked about it and took it, he took the glass of blood and almost immediately started to salivate he had realized that this only happened when he was weak and lacked food he took it almost immediately he tasted horrible he wanted to vomit it was as if he was drinking something rancid it tasted like stagnant water but at that point he couldn't complain

james watched him almost vomit up the blood but in the end he saw that he drank it even though he was willing to open his mouth and make him drink it he had no human blood in the house it was the only time he regretted it at first he thought if he could keep kaius in bed maybe he could get him to switch from human to animal blood but then he saw him there in bed knowing that if he had not had human blood in his system he would have died. 

after the blood he watched as kaius began to take the human food that was in front of him the eggs and the fruit and james stood there watching him feed as he finished. 

- Kaius, I need you to lie down," said James. 

- James, I'm not crippled, I just got stabbed," he said with a smile, "I just wanted to go out and feed properly. 

- It's not up for discussion, Kaius, you almost died, you stay here until you recover, okay?" he said showing his fangs showing that he wasn't joking. 

kaius reluctantly agreed he was still tired so he asked james to leave him alone so he could rest james left the room leaving him alone.

- Black, I need you to tell me what you found out," he asked his friend. 

- I found out that she did have something in her mind but it doesn't seem to be a normal love spell, it seems to be something different but I still can't figure out what it is," said Black trying to answer his question. 

- Well now I need you to try to stop my magic from going any further, can you do that," Kaius asked Black.

Black thought about it for a moment and maybe he couldn't deactivate it now and Kaius knew that so he would stop whatever was implanted in James from advancing. 

- Okay if I can do it but now it won't be as effective since we're weak in agreement?.

Kaius just nodded his head and went back to bed and slept soundly. 

about 2 hours passed until a fight woke the boy but he didn't move from his place. 

- what do you mean by a puppet I call you - said a young girl who was ayeila parnin the witch of the group along with her friend Jenny eralme the 3 of them were there together.

- do you know what it means - asked Jenny

- I've never heard of it before but we need to know what it means since someone couldn't take care of it," said the witch blaming not only James but also Kaius. 

At that moment black acted by implanting some of Kaius' magic in James' mind he knew it wasn't permanent but it would help the boy and he watched as his behavior changed maybe not drastically but a little bit and black would use this to find out which spell was the one that was implanted in him.

- IT WAS NO ONE'S FAULT AYELIA DON'T EVER BLAME ME OR KAIUS AGAIN!" said james not screaming but speaking loudly. 

black noticed how the 3 girls looked at each other as if they couldn't believe their attitude that's when he noticed that they had something to do with what was happening with the poor boy but now Lilian spoke up.

- we are not saying it was your fault james or ayeli" said the girl trying to calm them both down.

- THEN YOU ARE BLAMING KAIUS! HOW CAN YOU DO THIS? HE SAVED YOUR CHILD!" said james again in a loud way. 

the girls tried to tell him it wasn't like that but james didn't want to listen to them anymore.

- I don't want you to wake him up, we'll talk downstairs later," said James trying to calm down.

all 3 were against leaving claiming that they wanted to stay to thank kaius once he woke up but that was just an empty excuse in the end they left with the excuse of investigating the puppet. 

james walked over to kaius and pillowed up his pillow before leaving.

kaius got up a bit quickly so fast that his wound hurt him but he got up and closed the door with magic and took out some bags of human blood that he remembered he had kept in the liminal space of the 4 bags he drank 2 of them to recover but he still had to stay in the house for 2 things the first was for the fact that james was here with those crazy women and the second was almost for the same reason what black told him while he didn't know what it was he couldn't separate from him but even that, he still had that thorn of curiosity about what they said about the puppet he removed the spell as he was feeling james' presence so he went to take a bath he got in the bathtub and stayed there when james came in looking for him in the bathroom he looked scared. 

- why are you getting up i told you not to do that yet," he said scared. 

- calm down james I'm just washing up it's not like I'm leaving the room to get married.

james calmed down 

- I'm sorry it's true how you feel your wound is healing properly?- he walked over to the tub to check how he was doing whether he was sitting or lying down. 

- I'm fine, I'm just getting rid of all the smell of rotten blood and sheets," he said washing his body trying to keep the fully healed wound out of sight, even asking black not to heal it completely until a day at the most. 

james got up and waited for him outside the bathroom kaius got out of the bathtub after a few minutes he dried himself and put on a pair of pajamas he bought the day he went shopping in the city it was a set of black silk pants and shirt with gold colored trim as he got out james's mind was calmer as he saw his friend's body move more and the horrible scar slowly disappear and he could put on clothes without any pain. He tried to convince Kaius to stay in bed but he convinced him that he would behave if he let him go downstairs and rest in the living room so they both went downstairs to the living room when they arrived the girls were still at the oak dining table just off the living room reading a very old book. 

- It's a grimoire of his family," said black in Kaius' mind. 

James moved it closer to the living room leaving it resting on the biggest armchair right in front of the fireplace while he went back to the girls' table trying to figure out what it meant, but luckily for Kaius he had a friend for that. 

- black can you research the word puppet in generational magic," asked kaius. 

- You think I'm a computer, don't you?" said black with a funny tone.

- Yeah, something like that," he answered his friend who was a little irritated. 

black wasn't surprised in fact that's his job latis and herm had given him all that power for a reason but he wasn't going to reveal it yet so he sighed. 

- I can do it. In fact, I can research legends and past uses.

kaius couldn't help but laugh at that but also wondered if she was a zombie how human she could be.
