Rinro gripped his guns tightly, his cold voice tinged with disdain. "Even if you're a madman, it won't change anything!"
He pulled the trigger again. Countless ice bullets rained down like a storm, causing the temperature to plummet. Even the air itself seemed to freeze.
Yet, Hayato appeared completely unfazed by the piercing cold. His steps remained firm as he sprinted madly through the blizzard. His reckless charge made it seem as if the cold were nothing more than air to him—something he couldn't care less about.
"Impossible! Why isn't he affected by the cold?!" Rinro's eyes widened in shock. He couldn't understand why someone—even a powerful ability user—could withstand the freezing temperature that even ice-wielders would struggle against.
In the blink of an eye, Hayato had already closed the distance between them. His bloodstained face twisted into a menacing grin, his eyes filled with unrestrained madness and utter contempt.
Rinro instinctively stepped back, a sense of unease creeping up his spine. His earlier bold declaration now seemed like a ridiculous joke. "He can't get close?" No—this lunatic wasn't bound by reason at all!
Hayato's twin blades slashed downward, their razor-sharp arcs like the scythe of death. With a chilling crack, Rinro's ice-forged gun was instantly cleaved in two! The shattered fragments scattered, reflecting the cold moonlight. In the next instant, Hayato raised his blades once more, aiming for Rinro's throat!
With a furious roar, Rinro crossed his arms in front of him, blocking the strike. But Hayato, as if having lost all reason, swung his blades wildly. Each strike carried a raw, frenzied violence, filling the air with chaotic slashes. Sparks flew as the dragon scales shielding Rinro deflected the relentless attacks. Though his defenses held, every slash mocked his inability to fight back.
Grinding his teeth, Rinro's rage ignited. He suddenly spread his arms wide, unleashing a powerful blizzard that engulfed Hayato and sent him hurtling backward like a ragdoll.
Hayato slid several meters across the frozen ground, struggling to regain his footing. But before he could steady himself, Rinro was already upon him, his fist surging forward! This punch carried the wrath and might of a dragon.
Hayato instinctively crossed his twin blades in an attempt to block. Yet, the sheer force of the impact shattered through his defense, the overwhelming power reverberating through his bones. A sickening crack rang out—his arms fractured under the pressure. His entire body was launched like a cannonball, crashing into the ground with an explosive impact, sending dust and debris flying.
A mouthful of blood spurted from Hayato's lips, yet the crazed grin never left his face. He tried to get up, but his vision blurred, as if shrouded by frost, hazy and indistinct.
Rinro walked toward the fallen Hayato with deliberate steps, his gaze void of emotion, filled only with killing intent. "A human is still just a human. No matter how much you struggle, you can't change your fate."
Halfway through rising, Hayato was once again greeted by a powerful gust—Rinro's foot struck his abdomen with a devastating force!
Boom!
Hayato's body was flung like a broken kite, tracing an arc through the air as a mist of blood sprayed out. A searing pain tore through his organs, setting his insides ablaze.
He crashed violently into the ground, carving out a deep trench upon impact. Dust and rubble scattered in all directions. His body convulsed, his chest heaving with excruciating pain. Every breath felt like a knife slicing through his lungs.
"Cough… cough…" Hayato choked on his own blood, his body still trembling. But before he could even recover, Rinro had already turned into a streak of light, dashing toward him once more. His eyes were frigid, his fists brimming with an overwhelming chill.
His intent was clear—he would pummel Hayato back into the ground and end this ridiculous farce.
Though Hayato's consciousness wavered, his unyielding madness refused to fade. Summoning the last remnants of his strength, he swung his twin blades. Rinro sneered, effortlessly tilting his head to avoid the attack. However, at that very moment, Hayato's wrist flicked, sending his blades flying straight for Rinro's face!
"A cheap trick!" Rinro scoffed, barely shifting his body. The blades only grazed his cheek, unable to penetrate the dragon scales. He smirked mockingly, "Are you that desperate? Resorting to such petty tactics?"
But Hayato had already foreseen this reaction.
A sly grin curled his lips—the thrown blades were merely a distraction!
In the instant Rinro dodged, Hayato twisted his waist and unleashed a sudden, full-force kick toward his opponent!
Rinro's pupils shrank. He hadn't expected Hayato to still have the energy for such a maneuver. The kick was too fast to dodge completely—Bang!
Hayato's foot slammed against Rinro's shoulder, forcing him back a step. His expression turned icy.
"Your meaningless struggles only fuel my rage!" Rinro growled, spreading his arms wide.
With a furious dive, he lunged at Hayato once more, his fists descending like a collapsing mountain.
"Die!"
The devastating punch shattered the air, the sheer force rupturing the atmosphere. A deafening explosion accompanied its descent. The impact struck Hayato's head, and in that moment, his vision blanked out. A piercing, relentless ringing filled his ears, as if tens of thousands of nails were being driven into his skull. The unbearable agony swallowed his consciousness whole.
Hayato's body plummeted from the sky, slamming into the ground with an earth-shattering crash.
Boom!
The earth trembled violently, a massive crater forming upon impact. Rocks and dust burst into the air. The powerful shockwave flattened the nearby vegetation, bending them under its might.
In the center of the crater, Hayato's limp body lay motionless, bathed in a pool of his own blood. The crimson liquid seeped into the cracks of the earth, painting the battlefield a vivid red.
Rinro landed softly at the edge of the pit, his eyes cold and indifferent. He gazed down at Hayato's broken form, his voice devoid of warmth.
"This is what happens when a mere insect dares to challenge a dragon."
