Esther sighed in relief, taking a look at the clock that had already struck midnight. Her eyes narrowed towards the crowd, subconsciously looking for the man that disappeared without any warning.
A chill ran down her spine when she recalled their close distance and the words that echoed in her mind, in every fiber of her being. But as she breathed, she breathed in the scent of that cologne that still lingered even after he was gone.
Even as she was in the middle of the guests, Esther felt she was still watched by those eyes. That beautiful gaze, she remembered, evoking her with its mysteries. It was calm and almost impossible not to recall how long she was caught staring.
