The tension in the room was palpable as Anita reviewed the plan with the group. Maps, notes, and sketches were spread across the tables in Ms. Rivera’s classroom, the improvised war room for their growing alliance. Each person had their role, and Anita’s confidence was starting to build. But beneath the surface, a sense of unease lingered. 


Jace, standing by the window, kept his sharp gaze on the campus outside. “Something feels off,” he muttered, his voice barely audible. 


Anita glanced up, frowning. “What do you mean?” 


Jace didn’t reply immediately. His fox-like eyes narrowed as he scanned the grounds. “I’m not sure. Just… be careful who you trust.” 


The warning hung in the air like a dark cloud, but Anita pushed it aside. They had work to do. 


As the evening wore on, Anita noticed Aisha acting strangely. Usually calm and intuitive, Aisha seemed unusually tense, her eyes darting around the room as if searching for something—or someone.
