Chapter 146: The Guardian’s Wrath
The guardian lunged, its massive claws slicing through the air as the group scattered in different directions. The sheer power of its movements shook the temple walls, dislodging chunks of stone that crashed to the floor.
Jace darted to the side, his twin blades flashing as he aimed for the creature’s flank. “Anita, do your thing with the shard! We’ll keep it busy!”
“Easier said than done!” Anita yelled, clutching the shard tightly as she scrambled behind a broken pillar for cover.
Lira was already in motion, her movements a blur as she danced around the beast, striking at its legs with precise, calculated blows. But the creature’s hide was tougher than she anticipated; her daggers barely left a mark.
“It’s like cutting through steel!” she growled, dodging a swipe of its claws.
