The first light of day enveloped the vacant hallways as though they were in an tender hug which felt completely different from the intense emotions of the previous night. 


 Anita moved along the empty school building while her fingertips touched the cold metal lockers that were empty of life. The normal appearance of the world seemed detached from the heart-wrenching feeling of pressure bearing down on her ribs.
