They Can Wait

ARTEMIS POV

The face off was scary and I didn't like it. I felt like if I didn't do something, a full blown brawl could take place right here.

"We should get a drink or something," I said and Aiden's head snapped to me.

"He's not coming," he said pointing to his brother and Kane shrugged.

"You don't speak for her. She can decide" Kane said and Aiden growled.

"She is my girl," he said and Kane laughed. He pushed back his hair.

"Come on, Aiden. I know you two aren't working out so fine. It's gonna be a…"

"She should probably be carrying my child now," Aiden interrupted and Kane stopped. His eyes darkened and he turned to me. 

"Hmm," He said finally. I could see the disappointment in his eyes, but it didn't really bother me. I liked Kane but I was in love with his brother.

"I thought you two weren't on the best of terms," he said looking at me directly and I sighed.

"We are. We are umm good," I said, not sure what to say. Kane nodded.

Aiden took my arm and led me out of the room," he looked pissed. When we got outside I stopped forcing him to stop as well.

"Come on. You didn't have to do all that," I said and he glared at me.

"I don't want him scrutinizing you," He said, making me smile and I stretched out my hand to hold his face.

"Look at me Aiden," I said and his green eyes flickered to mine.

"I am all yours, my body, my heart to do as you wish. Kane is just a friend," I said and he sighed. He took my hand and kissed it.

"Yeah I know. He is only here for the meeting because he's a good talker and I am not. I thrive on letting you know how bad I can mess your life up if you cross me. But I don't think it's a good idea to bring him here," he said. I kissed him on the lips softly.

"It's alright. Let's go in, I am sure they would be waiting," I said and he nodded. When he walked in, everyone was seated, Kane included. His eyes followed me and Aiden as walked into the room

The room suddenly quietened as Aiden and I walked in. I could see Daymon standing in the corner. Our eyes met and he looked away. I still couldn't figure out Daymon's attitude.

Aiden sat down and I sat beside him. He glared at the fat old man in front of him who was grinning like a fool.

"Hello Boy," He said and I felt sorry for him. Disrespecting Aiden like that only meant trouble

Aiden smiled, the man extended a hand and Aiden ignored it. He gave Kane a look and Kane cleared his throat.

"We have come to tell you that we will buy the company, not you. The auctions start in an hour and we heard you called for a meeting before it commenced." Kane said and the man smirked.

"Oh yes. You see, one thing you boys don't know is how rich I am. I can buy all your lives ten times and would still feed thousands," he said. Aiden nodded.

"Sure, we know. That's why I can just upload the videos of you sleeping with underaged girls huh? Tell me how America would feel about that, 'Dean Shawn likes underaged girls as sex toys'," Aiden said and the man Dean suddenly looked afraid.

"Look, Aiden. I… I was kidding, I'll leave the company, you boys can have it." Dean begged and Aiden sighed, he turned to me.

"What do you think, Artemis?" He asked and I stared at him surprised. He has brought me to meetings like this on several occasions but he has never asked for my opinion.

"What he did isn't right," I said, feeling sick. Sleeping with underage girls? I wanted him to rot in jail but it wasn't my position to say so. I was new to all this.

"I would have asked you to go ahead and upload it but I can't. It's not in my position to say. I…"

Aiden tapped his phone screen and grinned at Dean who looked horrified.

"Done, uploaded" he said and I stared at him in shock.

"I didn't say…"

"Shhh. Darling, that's alright. He can rot in prison now" he said and stood. Kane stood as well, his gaze lingering briefly before turning back to his brother. He extended a hand to Aiden.

"We make a good team," he said and Aiden stared at the hand like a snake. I had always wanted to ask them what was the cause of their enmity but decided not to.

"No we don't," Aiden said but shook the hand anyway before tugging it free and putting it back in his pockets. Aiden waited till Daymon and Kane had left before he pulled me into his arms and gave me a smoldering kiss.

"You didn't have to do that today because I was talking about…"

"Shhh" he placed a finger on my lips stopping me.

"I know you didn't like it which was why I did upload it and I'll do it again," He raised my face to his.

"Understand?" He asked and I nodded. He pulled me into his arms and we just stood there hugging. I felt safe, I felt protected and I felt… loved.

I didn't know if I should ask him yet but I felt like it wasn't just time yet. When he was ready he would tell me himself. I didn't want to rush anything or force anything on him. I wanted him to realize it himself then that way he would be able to say it.

He pulled back and stared at me. 

"You were right that day. I like red haired girls and I….I like you more than any red haired person I have seen. You are so damn stubborn it once infuriated me but now I like everything about you." He said

"From here" he traces a finger along my lips.

"To here" his hands moved down my chest.

"To here" they were on my belly now.

"And…."

"If you continue that. I might not let you leave until you take me here. I am sure Kane and Daymon is waiting for us," 

He grinned,

"They can wait"
