Rachel took a moment to calm herself, wiping away her tears. "Diana, please keep an eye on Jackson."
"Sis, are you alright?" Diana asked, concerned.
Rachel shook her head, then stepped out of the apartment. "I'm sorry, Mr. Franklin, for my earlier urgency. Please, come in and have a seat."
William said nothing, simply settling on the living room sofa.
Diana poured him a glass of water.
Rachel moved to the window, hugging herself, clearly distressed.
William stood and approached her from behind, his concern evident. "Why don't you tell me what happened? Maybe I can help."
Rachel lowered her head, shaking it gently. "He knows I deceived him."
William's eyes darkened, "You mean..."
"Yes, he knows about Jackson." Rachel's voice was strained.
