Synopsis

I am an extra. That is an undeniable fact. As a mere extra in a fantasy world filled with sparkling heroes, charming princesses, and mysterious antagonists, my existence is merely to serve as a backdrop for them. But I, Arkan, will not remain silent! Why be satisfied with being ordinary, when I can be extraordinary?

In this world, I might be just a herb shopkeeper who doesn't even get to be in the main dialogue. But somehow, my life began to change after I accidentally obtained an Artifact That Extra Characters Should Not Be Able to Have.

Now, with a power that invites more trouble than anything else, I struggle to avoid the attention of the main characters... or steal their attention?

This story is too slow and flat. For many web novels, the first 15-30 chapters are crucial for keeping readers interested enough to continue. That's why it's important to make readers care about your story. But in this case, I don't feel anything at all. Just empty. By the 30th chapter, only the background has been introduced; the MC has been reincarnated as an ordinary villager who sells herbs. The MC wants to be like a protagonist; to be strong but fails. He tries to use his future knowledge but fails as well. At first, I thought the author was aiming for a realistic approach to the isekai genre. But then suddenly, a system is introduced that helps the MC make soap. OMG. I think the author is underestimating the medieval setting. Soap has been known since ancient times, made from ashes and fats, so it's not a new discovery. Yet the author treats it as such, and everyone is surprisingly impressed. The MC then attempts to become rich. After the segment on marketing soap, the story suddenly shifts to a tragedy involving the death of an old man who took care of the MC. Here, the author doesn't even mention the name of this old man character.

It's just... I don't know how to rate this. It's so in-between. Has a lot of redundancy and repetition. The MC character type is definitely not my favorite. It's okay for a binge ig. It reads like a cozy story for the most part

Overall not great but not horrible. Now the reason I came to my conclusion: writing quality no major errors noticed, strangely used opinions by mc that have no connection ([example] thoughts based on ideals of groups or organizations that do not exist in the current world), story development feels very slow and often times can be set aside without feeling a sense of urgency to prolong reading, character design is left mainly in nondiscription with few details about characters given, world background is only given to the reader in a sense of novel title otherwise no towns, city, forest, country, road, home is ever named directly (within the first 30 chapters locations that can be given life or even a name are countable with one hand). To finalize everything, novel is hit and miss
