Chapter 80: A Rift Unseen

The wind howled through the shattered remnants of the city as Emily's boots crunched in the snow.

The cold was unbearable, but that was the least of her worries.

Their fight had only just begun, and every move they made from here on out would determine the outcome of everything they'd worked for.

The enemy had closed in on them faster than expected.

Their forces were a well-oiled machine, relentless and calculated in their pursuit.

Every step Emily took seemed to sink deeper into the snow, each movement a reminder that they weren't alone there were eyes everywhere. Watching Waiting.

The rest of the team was spread out in strategic positions—Reyes on overwatch, ready to pick off any targets that appeared.

Damien was closer to the frontline, trying to maintain their tenuous hold on the crumbling structure they'd taken refuge in.

Holt and Theo were at the rear, securing their position in case of an enemy encirclement.
