Chapter 91: Through The Inferno

The forest stretched before them, a tangled labyrinth of shadows and shifting dangers.

The distant hum of helicopters had faded, but Emily knew better than to believe they were safe, Hale wouldn't let them go so easily.

Emily gripped her rifle tighter, glancing at her team.

Damien's jaw was set, his eyes scanning the horizon with lethal focus.

Lena moved like a specter, silent and calculating, while Kade's fingers twitched near his sidearm, nerves barely held in check.

Voss. The name hung in the air between them, unspoken but heavy.

He was one of their own, a brother in arms. And now, he was Hale's captive.

"We have to be smart about this," Lena said, her voice low but firm "Hale has planned every step of this."

Emily nodded. "Which means we plan ours better. We don't go in blind, we find a way to turn this against him."

Damien exhaled sharply. "We don't even know where he is yet."
