Chapter 129: Beyond The Grave

Emily's grip on her rifle tightened as she studied the figure before her.

The dim moonlight carved sharp angles across their face, the ghost of someone she had long believed dead.

She wanted to demand answers—how they had survived, why they were here, and most importantly, whether they could be trusted, but there was no time.

Below them, the city was coming alive with activity.

The Covenant soldiers were on the move, their voices crackling over radio frequencies, their searchlights sweeping across rooftops and alleyways.

The failed raid had put the entire sector on high alert.

Their window to escape was closing.

Emily flicked her gaze to Cole and Raine. "We move now. That ship is our only shot."

Cole nodded but kept a wary eye on the stranger. "And them?"

"They come with us." Her voice was tight, reluctant. "For now."

The stranger smirked as if they had already expected this decision.
