16. To dragons island
It was dark still, and he was lying on a bed out in the open, when a bird fell on the bed near where he was. The bird was ash, with specs of black on it, it was injured, staring at him, and he stared back at it, but he couldn't move or get up, suddenly black birds in their numbers came out of thin air and started flying round his head. He glared up at them, and they began falling to the floor and on the bed dead one by one.
He woke up covered in sweat, stretching his legs. He sat up on the bed, combing through his hair with his fingers, as he sighed in relief, he stood up from the bed and walked to the bath when he remembered what had happened to him, he raised up his tunic, but there was not even a scratch on his skin. He stood before a mirror turning to his back to see if there was a scar when Elora walked in with a tray with little bowls in it. She stared at his chiseled abs forgetting what she was supposed to do. He cleared his throat loudly, bringing her back to reality, she blushed, turning around in embarrassment as her face coloured deeply. "I didn't know you had finally woken up" she paused "i...i just wanted to bring your medicines" he dropped down the tunic and sighed. "There is nothing to be embarrassed about, you should come in" he poured himself a glass of water and walked back to the bed and sat down. She calmed herself down before she turned and walked into the room, placing the tray she held onto his bed. He picked up the bowl of medicine and downed it without blinking, dropping it back on the tray. She starred at him in shock looking from his face to the bowl "isn't it bitter? How...how did you just" she used her hands to imitate the way he gulped it down. Her face squeezed in disgust as though she was the one who had drank the medicine. He looked at her in confusion "was I not supposed to drink it? Was it meant for something else?" She shook her head in the negative "you did it right" she turned to leave but turned back on second thought "what does your name mean?" He looked at her while contemplating "I am not sure" she nodded her head in understanding and walked out the room.
Emma stared at Dena who was sitting up on her bed taking her medicine "you don't have to keep looking at me like I am a strange creature" she dropped the bowl back on the tray and a servant took it out. "What is with Rave, I thought he was dead."She smirked, her lips turning into a full smile, a mocking laugh escaping her lips "I thought someone once said she would never be parted from him" "our love is very strong" she imitated. Dena glared at her, "you don't have to rub it in, can't you see that this is an unfortunate event, you should be consoling me, not mocking me." "Where is Elnad by the way, you and Elora don't talk about him much, is he with his father?" "No, he just goes where he wills, and yes he does stay with his father sometimes." She stood up from the bed and walked to where Emma sat, "its been more than 200 years now, and I don't like talking about it" Emma nodded her head in understanding, trying to hold in her laugh. "you and Elora are the same, you both don't take such events seriously, and I don't know if that is a good thing or not." She walked toward her wardrobe and brought out a jewelry box, she held carried it cautiously and dropped it on the table before Emma. They stared at each other in silence, knowing that it was a delicate matter. "You want me to take it?" Dena nodded her head in affirmation, as they both opened the box together, they both inhaled deeply at the sight of the black orb that had little gold threads swimming inside of it. "Its still so beautiful" Emma said picking it out of the box and holding it with both her palms curved as a bowl. It reflected gold light on the walls, the black in it darkened the room. They placed it back into the box and closed it, the room brightening up instantly.
"you must take it to dragons island, I don't want him to ever find it"
" what about you and your people, what if he comes again?"
She looked away from Emma stilling herself "then let's hope Elnad is back before then, he is the only one who can stop his father"
