Dylan returned to his cabin, his thoughts consumed by ways to stop Sophia from going to dinner with Johnson. He sat at his desk, thinking of a plan. Suddenly, an idea struck him. He called Sophia to his cabin, his voice firm and urgent.
"Sophia, I need you to complete these documents by tonight. I'll help you sort out the documents. Come to my cabin, and we'll work together."
Sophia nodded, her eyes widening slightly. "Okay, sir," she said, her voice neutral.
As Sophia entered the cabin, Dylan smiled, his eyes locked onto hers. "Let's get started," he said, his voice smooth.
Sophia sat down beside him, and together they began working on the documents. Sophia quickly sent a message to Johnson, explaining the situation and apologizing for the delay. "I'm running late, Johnson. I'm stuck at the office working on some documents with my boss. I'll meet you as soon as I can," she messaged.
As they worked, Dylan stood up to take some documents from the table. He moved closer to Sophia, their shoulders almost touching. Sophia's heart was racing, and Dylan's heart was beating fast. Their eyes met, and they stared at each other for a moment.
Suddenly, Sophia's phone buzzed, breaking the silence. Dylan's eyes turned to the side, and he sat back down in his chair. Sophia read the notification - it was from Johnson. "When are you coming?" he asked.
Sophia checked the time and realized she couldn't make it on time. She decided to cancel the dinner and messaged Johnson. "Sorry, Johnson. I couldn't make it up to time today. Can we go another day?" she asked.
Johnson was upset but replied, "Okay, Sophia. We can go another day. Bye, good night."
Sophia replied, "Good night, Johnson. Take care."
Dylan watched Sophia chatting with someone and thought it was Johnson. "We have to complete these documents today, so please hurry up. Don't play with your phone," he said, his voice firm.
Sophia nodded and kept her phone aside, focusing on the documents. Dylan was thinking about the strange feeling he was experiencing. "What is this?" he wondered.
After some hours, they completed the documents. "Good job, Sophia!" Dylan said, his voice firm.
"Thank you, sir," Sophia replied.
"You can leave now for your dinner appointment," Dylan said.
Sophia looked at the clock and said, "Ah, now, sir?"
"Yes," Dylan replied.
Sophia said, "Sir, can you see the time? It's too late. All restaurants are closed. So, I canceled the dinner with my friend."
Dylan was happy from inside that the dinner was canceled. He said, "I'm sorry, Sophia. I gave you too much work, that you couldn't get to go for dinner." He said with upset face.
Sophia smiled and said, "It's okay, sir. No problem. Can I leave, sir?"
Dylan said, "No, you can't leave now. I'll order some food to the office. Eat with me, and then you can leave."
Sophia said, "No, sir. I'm not hungry." But suddenly, her stomach growled, and Dylan heard it. He smiled and said, "Okay, I'll order immediately. What would you like to order?"
Sophia's face turned red, and she looked away, trying to hide her embarrassment. Dylan's eyes sparkled with amusement as he picked up the phone to order food."What would you like to have, Sophia?" he asked, his voice smooth.
Sophia hesitated, her face still red from embarrassment. "Whatever you're having, sir," she said finally, trying to sound casual.
Dylan smiled and ordered a variety of dishes, including Sophia's favorite. As they waited for the food to arrive, the tension in the room became palpable. Dylan couldn't help but notice the way Sophia's eyes sparkled in the dim light of the office.
When the food arrived, Dylan gestured for Sophia to start eating. Sophia hesitated for a moment, then picked up a piece of naan bread and began to eat. Dylan watched her, his eyes fixed on her lips as she took a bite.
As they ate, the conversation flowed easily, and Sophia found herself laughing and relaxing in Dylan's presence. She couldn't help but notice the way Dylan's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled.
As they finished their meal, Dylan leaned back in his chair, his eyes never leaving Sophia's face. "I'm glad we could have dinner together, Sophia," he said, his voice low and husky.
Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she met Dylan's gaze. She felt a flutter in her chest, and suddenly, the office didn't seem so formal anymore.
"Thank you, sir," Sophia said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Dylan's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The air was charged with tension, and Sophia's heart was racing.
Finally, Dylan broke the silence. "You can leave now, Sophia," he said, his voice firm but gentle.
Sophia nodded, still feeling the effects of the charged moment. "Thank you, sir," she said, gathering her things.
As Sophia left the office, Dylan watched her go, his eyes fixed on her retreating figure. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something had changed between them, something that he couldn't quite put his finger on.
As the door closed behind Sophia, Dylan let out a deep breath. He felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him, but he couldn't quite explain why. He shook his head, chuckling to himself. He had a feeling that this was just the beginning of something unexpected.
