C2 - I Need Food

Yin Kai rolled over in his sleep. 'What the hell?'

A large albino alligator had eaten his pants and simply refused to let go. Luckily, it was just a dream.

He shook himself and sat up. There was a large number of chirps coming from the cages.

As he walked outside, his thick black hair began to rise in the cold morning wind. The sky showed the time: it was early morning, shortly before dawn.

The first and second cages were fine. All the chickens were quiet and safely in their coops.

But the third cage… 'What the Hell?'

A bunch of short yellow chicks were trying to wrap their mouths around a small bead. As one little chicken failed, another took its place. Unfortunately for them, the bead was now too large.

Yin Kai stepped into the cage and separated it from then. Picking it up, he tried to discern what exactly it was...

It was smaller than his fingernails in size. It was gold in color, with a large red glyph the color of blood.

Luckily, he was able to read the ancient glyph due to his childhood upbringing. It read, "Ancestral."

The orb was certainly a treasure. After washing it off and cleaning the surface, he immediately ingested it.

It was most likely an inheritance of some kind. Luckily, the sect had a soul defense array. Due to their age and cultivation, most of the disciples have high martial strength, but were lacking in the strength of soul.

To keep an old monster from devouring their souls and stealing their bodies, an array master was long ago hired to assist with this problem.

Since childhood, Yin Kai had had two mantras locked firmly into his mind. The first was fairly common.

"No pain, no gain."

The second was just as simple, and a little more fun.

"See a treasure.

Grab a treasure.

Have a treasure.

Go!"

Armed with 'See a Treasure Take a Treasure (SATTAT's) Syndrome,' Yin Kai's immediate inhalation of the orb with the blood-red orb bespoke instant gratification.

However, the pain from said action caused him to pass out on the ground.

Yin Kai awoke in a blackened void.

He tried to muster his voice but his entire sense of self was suppressed by a presence that portrayed total and complete omnipotence.

Giant, golden words appeared in front of him.

"THE ANCESTRAL ORB, INGEST…

TO TURN NATURE FROM PEST…

ANCESTRAL ORIGIN, HEST…

OVERTAKEN LEST…"

A large influx of new information came to his mind.

The orb he had swallowed was called the 'Ancestral Pill of Origin." It was an inheritance left by an unknown master in the past.

It indeed appeared that all the chickens in his third cage had previously swallowed and used it, returning them closer to their origin.

When he took it, it had fused with his body, but not before fixing his body into a state ready for Qi cultivation - thus allowing him to rocket past the Body Formation 9th Stage and putting him into the lowest realm of Qi Cultivation 1st stage.

New words appeared.

"ANCESTRAL ORIGIN TRANSFORMATION ART."

As more information entered his mind, he quickly updated himself with the new technique. The Ancestral Origin Transformation Art was a primary cultivation method that used a special space.

Inside the Ancestral Pill of Origin lay a space called the "Ancestral World of Origin."

He could nominate a creature. By cultivating the Ancestral Origin Transformation Art and placing his hand upon it, he was able to send it into the Ancestral World of Origin.

The creature would then join his "Pantheon." All of that creature's offspring would donate a portion of their life force, bloodline, soul, qi, aptitude, faith, and overall strength back to their ancestor.

As long as the offspring remained, the ancestral creature would never age. Moreover, the offspring could never truly fight back against their ancestor.

Furthermore, Yin Kai could link one of his body parts with that of the Ancestral Creature, thereby giving him a portion of its' power.

After all was said and done, Yin Kai would end at the top of his new 'pantheon.' As its ruler, he would receive a portion of the spiritual feedback from both his own progeny and the progeny of the pantheon members.

"STAR SEA, MOON-SHATTER ISLAND."

The new words indicated a direction for him to pursue. Unfortunately, he had no idea what they meant.

Yin Kai quickly awoke after absorbing the large influx of information.

After thinking about it for no time at all, he had already decided on his first creature.

He had chosen Bae Re, the biggest rooster in the barn, and the father of all the chickens in the third cage.

The cages themselves had a categorical order. The first cage held specially modified chickens.

In it, he currently had nine spirit hens, a poison-tail rooster (luckily with a good temperament), two fire-feather roosters, a flowermane rooster, and a young speedfoot hen locked within.

Unfortunately, he had yet to gain an adult, mutated spirit hen.

The second cage was for quicker breeding. It held 15 regular hens, and one spirit rooster, Bae Re.

The third cage was the overflow cage. It held the spirit chickens ready for sale. But now… Life was beginning to change.

"Bae Re!!!"
