He Jinhong didn't say a word, merely smiling indifferently, yet his eyes betrayed a bloodthirsty cruelty.
Xia Zhi's hands covered her belly as she struggled to remain calm. She couldn't afford to be weak; she had to think of every possible way to escape and not let him harm her child!
The car drove southward, the surroundings becoming more and more desolate. Xia Zhi had no idea where they were heading, silently staring out of the car window, trying to memorize something.
After another twenty minutes or so, a row of townhouses suddenly appeared, set in beautiful surroundings that were starkly out of place in this remote location.
The car slowly entered the courtyard and came to a stop.
"Xiao Zhi, we're here," He Jinhong said as he unfastened her seatbelt, speaking with a smile, "From now on, you'll live here. I will come to see you often."
Xia Zhi didn't move, staring at him coldly, "Why won't you let me go?"
